What a day of odd finds. There is always something to pick up even if it's not video game related. You do have to expand your mind to other things anyways. I myself collect action figures as well but barely run into the ones I'm looking for. Nevertheless, I came up big in the action figure department and then some. There are also a lot of other interesting finds. Does the photo make you wonder? It should! So why not check what I've found today at the flea market and Play n Trade ^_^
So lets start with some action figures from the 80s! These are some GIjoes I got for .50 cents each. I had to check them over to see if they were the Hasbro brand and what not and made sure for the most part that most of them were. There are some with a weird company...can't really read it. Overall, I think for .50 cents each I had a good deal. I don't know much about their value so I can't really say what the value is of the figures.
I also got some of these figures for .50 cents. The only ones that cost me a dollar each were the Foot Soldier (3/20 set complete yayness), April, Robotic Shredder, and the Blond dude on the left. Speaking of that blond dude, he was part of the kids meals for Burger King years ago. I remember getting that figure years back....I ended up losing it after I threw it in the roof of my neighbors house. I'm sure they took it as when I went to look for it, it was already gone. It's over 20 years later and it's back in my hands!
Moving on, I got these action figures from the Super Mario Bros 3 era for three bucks. I think I did alright and can never have too much Super Mario Bros action figures!
I also picked up these two Sega Saturn controllers for five bucks. They are kinda of rare to find in these grounds so I had to pick them up.
One of the most interesting finds of the day was this NES controller. It's called the Joycard Sansui and it's an official NES controller. It was developed by Hudson and it's probably one of the kewlest controllers ever!! The kewl thing about this controller is that it works with an audio output. How? Well, you plug the controller into the port and the audio on the audio output on the NES. Then the kewlest factor comes in play. You get a set of headphones and plug them in the controller! With that done, you can hear the sound from the NES with your headsets but that's not all! The sound jumps from left to right according to which direction you are pressing on the control pad. Isn't that awesome? I think it is! I was playing Balloon Fight with it earlier and loved it!! So worth it for five bucks!
Hmm I picked up this freak of nature for a dollar.
Got some neat games for five bucks !
And got a Dreamcast with all cables and a lame football games for ten bucks.
Probably the find of the day was this Mac Powerbook. I paid eight dollars for it so it wasn't very risky if it didn't worked. Gladly, it did! The problem is I couldn't test it because the charger was missing the power cable. I was looking through my things when I was home and found one! I plugged it in and BAM! Saw the logo you are looking at in the photo.
Everything started up real well but I think the battery has seen better days as it needs to stay plugged in to stay alive. I wonder what I can do with this laptop, any suggestions? I don't know anything about Mac. In fact, this is the first time I have a Mac computer believe it or not....
The Mac book came with this cover thing and I didn't liked it one bit...it's time to make you a member of Retro Gaming Life ^_^
Ah...much better...you have been baptized! Isn't it wonderful? You are official one of us Mac Book!
So moving on...me and my buddy went to Play n Trade to check out what was going on. It has been two weeks since our last visit so we were hopeful there were going to be new games for sale. There wasn't much new but I did managed to pick up Super Mario Kart boxed for 14.99 and Mortal Kombat Mythologies for 4.99. I can't wait to try out Mortal Kombat Mythologies! It's more a comedy than an action game...just look at the horrid acting in the game!!
So that's about it! We went to a Sushi buffet and chowed down lots of amazing Sushi! God! It's been almost eight hours since that and I'm still full! Digest damn it!
BONUS FINDS! These were given to me by my friend. The honey bee converter is broken while the other disc is some weird video game music group...Their songs are mostly miss but there are two I found somewhat bearable. That's all for today so until next time.
