New Additions to the Collection – GameStop Finds
A recent trip to GameStop added several great titles to the collection, spanning arcade classics and more experimental modern games.
The haul includes Metal Slug Anthology and Samurai Shodown Anthology, two excellent compilations preserving SNK’s legendary arcade legacy. Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice brings fast, over-the-top action, while Under Defeat: Deluxe Edition delivers polished shoot ’em up gameplay on the PS3. Half-Minute Hero adds a clever twist to the RPG formula, and Ivy the Kiwi? rounds things out with its charming art style and unique vine-drawing mechanics created by Yuji Naka.
A well-rounded set of additions and a reminder that great finds can still be discovered locally.

Church Flea Market Finds: Unexpected Gaming Gems

One of the best things about collecting games is that sometimes the best finds come from the most unexpected places. This weekend proved exactly that when a quick stop at a local church flea market turned into a small but exciting haul of games spanning multiple generations.

PlayStation Surprises

The first thing that caught my eye was a copy of Shooter: Starfighter Sanvein for the original PlayStation. This is one of those lesser-talked-about titles that really captures the experimental spirit of early console shooters. The clean jewel case and artwork immediately stood out, making it an easy grab. It’s always fun finding PlayStation games that flew under the radar back in the day.

Next up was Tennis for PlayStation, published by Ubisoft. Sports games are a staple of flea market finds, but this one felt like a solid addition. Tennis titles from the PS1 era have a charm all their own—simple mechanics, clean visuals, and that unmistakable late-90s presentation. Seeing this one complete in its case was a nice bonus.

Nintendo DS Hidden Gem

Probably the standout of the haul was Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys!!! for the Nintendo DS. This is one of those quirky, personality-driven games that perfectly represents the DS library. With its comic-book style, offbeat humor, and puzzle-based gameplay, it’s a title that often gets overlooked but is well worth owning. Finding it out in the wild—especially at a flea market—felt like a real win.

Why Flea Markets Still Matter

What makes finds like this special isn’t just the games themselves, but the experience. Church flea markets and community sales are becoming rare goldmines for physical media. There’s something satisfying about flipping through random tables, spotting familiar logos, and rescuing games that might otherwise be forgotten.

This haul may be small, but it’s a great reminder that you don’t need a massive convention or online marketplace to grow a collection. Sometimes all it takes is a Saturday morning, a little patience, and a keen eye.

Finds 1700: Teal Gameboy Color, Super Swing Golf, Kingdom Hearts, NES Games, and PC Software!

We have finally made it to post number 1700! What better way to start things off with some random ass lot! I found a Gameboy color which is rare nowadays. It does work by the way! Some PC software as well. A couple of NES games to flip, Wii and DS game that are welcomed to the collection. There isn't much more to say about this lot. Just happy to keep adding new additions after all these years. We have so much more coming, things are just getting started! Check below for more detailed photos of this loot!

Finds 1671: PC Archives and DS Game

So a lot of you who still visit this blog have seen my increase in getting PC stuff. The main reason for this is because I've noticed that some PC software doesn't have much information online about it. I definitely want to start scanning and ripping the images off of a lot of these CDs especially software as maybe another individual is looking for the drivers or a certain game. I will be working on this and hopefully launch it in the next month or so with the help of the Internet Archives.

Finds 1667: Macintosh oddware, SSX Blur, Kirby’s Pinball Land, Yugioh Cards, Zelda Phantom Hourglass, and PlayStation Lights!

Here are some interesting additions that I found while thrifting and hitting Targey. The PlayStation light and Yu-gi-oh! trading cars were from Targey as I went looking for Ninja Turtles and came out empty handed. They did had some but none that I needed. I also found some games which were SSX Blur which I didn’t have in my collection. I also picked up Kirby’s Pinball Land and Zelda Phantom Hourglass which will make good trades when I hit conventions or a possible future trip. Finally, the unusual software boxes of Macintosh programs really caught my attention. They are both sealed and apparently come with tools for design which is in my field. Isn’t that convenient?

Finds 1643: Sukoku, Portable Goodies, and a Mystery Game!

Some awesome goodies I was able to find at the thrift store. I definitely love getting Power Quest as it's one of the most memorable Gameboy Color games I've played years ago and it just sticks to my mind. It's not the best game, but it's really fun. I also got Zelda for the Gameboy color although this cart doesn't work, I will find a way to make it run. Some other goodies as well as Super Mario Odyssey which is a game I wanted for a while. Finally, a mystery game! What game is it? Check below!

Here are some random findings! Power Punch 2 famicom bootleg is really odd. I also got two DS games and they are unique and fun. The memory cards hold the memories of gamers from the past. I will make something of them one day!

Finds 1637: Nintendo DS Lite Dock, PC Goodies, and Atari DS Game

Here is a nice haul with lots of PC goodies but a Nintendo DS lite which I got mainly because of the dock. The amount of the games are massive! Lots of goodies for the PC including Norton Utilities which I heard has some interesting stuff in there. Lets check it out! 

Here is the first set of games and software. I gotta say, a lot of these are interesting to check out but the one that takes the cake is the Norton Utilities. 

Here is another set of discs. This one comes with more software and a CD sampler. This is so awesome!

The one that takes the cake is this one. Don't you love the label? 81 games and you can recognize a bunch of classics on it. I haven't tried this one out, but I will eventually run into it. 

The only reason I got this DS lite is because it came with a dock. I was so curious about it! Anyways, the way it works is that you plug in the charger on the back of the dock and it gives power to the dock therefore charges the handheld. Pretty neat huh?

I also found this one which is yet another compilation of Atari gems. It's always fun to revisit these classics. Hopefully they bring some remakes of them.

Finds 1611: Civilization IV, Black Ops 2, Nintendo DS Lite PInk, and Micro Diskette Package

Here are some new awesome addition. Love finding old new stock of floppy disks. Got some stuff such as PS2 controller and a NDS lite with a cool Mario & Luigi game. Civilization IV was also found which was a really good addition and Call of Duty Black Ops 2 to trade into Gamestop.

Finds 1601: Really Kick Ass Lot! Mega Man 2, Mega Man 6, Secret of Mana, and Other Goodies

Here are some amazing additions to the collection. Not only do we have some really cool Wii titles, but we have some NES and SNES gems! Lets start with the Wii and Wiiu titles which are good hit games such as Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy. I did picked up the Wiiu titles to build up my Wiiu collection and a DS games called Science Papa which I got because I just love the cover art. Finally, Mega Man 2 and 6 were very amazing finds and then Secret of Mana and the other goodie right there. Totally loving this! Great look! Lets keep that collection growing!
