Retro Tuesday 009: Troll Donatello from TMNT

Many of you have probably seen my set of Troll TMNT turtles so it was only fair to show off at least one of them. This is Donatello and as you can see, he does resemble a troll! I really liked this series, I think it was because they were so weird and the hair was cool. I had the Leonardo figure back in the day and ended up shaving his hair!!! What was I thinking? I probably wasn’t thinking at all. That’s just ridiculous. During the release of these toys, the turtles were pretty much everything and had every career you can think of in the toy line. I was happy to be able to have the entire set at a reasonable price and I’m happy displaying them with all my other junk. I highly recommend you hunt them down if you are a fan of them.

Retro Tuesday 008: Pixel Figure Mega Man

This week, we take a look at a pixel figure Mega Man from the original Mega Man series. GameStop had a series of Mega Man pixel art figures and I guess they didn’t caught on because they were on clearance. I thought it was a pretty cool take on the series and definitely brought back the classic Mega Man master robots to life. If you ever run across them, be sure to pick them up. They make good decorations especially if you want to make your shelves have that retro feel.

Retro Tuesday 007: Pokemon Master Ball

So you only get one, that’s right. This is the master ball and many of you may remember this poke-ball as the one you really had to think about before you use it. Let’s face it, it catches a pokemon at 100 percent rate so that’s pretty awesome. This poke-ball I got from a Chinese store so I can’t really tell if it’s legit or not. It’s a really cool design with the M on it and everything. That M does look like the Mario M right? Watch a think? Like my ball?

Retro Tuesday 006: Sonic Plush

This is a Sonic Plush I picked up at the flea market ages ago. It’s from the year 2000 so it’s from around the Sonic Adventure era although the label does say Sonic X so it must be from the cartoon series going on. It’s a cute plush and definitely better than other Sonic plushies I’ve seen. Some of them don’t even look like Sonic! Any of you have any Sonic plushies?

This is a really cool Donatello mug from the TMNT series. It’s based on the original cartoon from the late 80s. Overall, it’s a great way to sip some coffee in the early morning. I got this at GameStop and they were in clearance! What a deal!

Retro Tuesday 004: MS. Pac-Man Mini Cab

It’s always great when a company decide to re-release some arcade classics in mini form. I know some of these games have been done to death, but the nostalgia is always there. This is the mini MS Pac-Man cab which comes with the game for you to play as you wish. If you don’t have a problem holding on to the little cabinet, then it’ll be lots of fun for you. The joystick is actually quite responsive and the sound is similar to the original. The game itself is not the same one in the arcade, it just feels like an emulated version of the game. Overall, a really cool gadget.

Retro Tuesdays 003: Tomagotchi

This week, we have the crazy Tomagotchi toy. What is Tomagotchi? It's none other than a virtual pet. This was a craze that came with Pokemon in the late 90s. Taking care of your monster was the whole craze and this become quite popular. The idea is quite genius. You have this little peripheral that works as a Pokewalker and you have a little monster that you take care of. During the various times of the day, you can feed it or play with it. Depending on how good you take care of the creature, it'll live a longer healthier life. If you don't take care of it, the creature will die! That's okay though as you can reset the game and try again. They were quite fun especially because a lot of kids would bring them to school. They even came out with some that would battle mimicking the whole Pokemon gimmick. They have recently made a comeback and you can find them at stores such as Hot Topic or Gamestop. A really cool gadget indeed.

Retro Tuesdays 002: Mouser (TMNT)

Welcome once again to another Retro Tuesdays post. This time around we will take a look at the Mouser from the TMNT line from the late 80s. This was a very cool figure as it could walk on its own. Unfortunately, they were quite fragile so none of the 10 plus Mousers I own can walk! Can you believe that? Overall, it's a really cool especially for any TMNT collector. The only way to build an army of it was to do the same with the Foot Soldier which is to buy a bunch! There weren't many bundle packs for these. Love the whole aesthetic of it. This is a very awesome figure nonetheless. 

They were first seen in the first season... as you can see, they are smaller on screen than the toy version. This also reminds me, Baxter was released by NECA without a single Mouse which only means that they will release human Baxter with them.

Retro Tuesdays 001: Mario Wendy's Kids Meal Figure

So what's Retro Tuesdays? It's simple, I will post a random toy, game, or gadget from the past and talk a little bit about it. That's about it so lets get started.
This week, we have the Mario figurine from the Wendy's kids meal from 2002. 

It was part of five kids toys from the GBA releases of the games. Overall, I think that the Mario figurine I'm showcasing is the more interesting one of the set although that Mario Advance box art is interesting as well. You can find these toys on eBay in large quantities. I would love to get the entire set sealed and keep it sealed for crazy collection purposes.
