My Updated Computer Section! WOOHOO!

So I have been finding great deals on some new gadgets to add to my computers and have came up with a decent set up. I have a total of three desktops in the same area. My main one is the fastest one of course with a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 x2 Duel Core Processor 4800+ 2.5 ghz with 3gb of RAM and a 250gb hard drive. It also came with a built in graphics card but I don't know how good it is since I never play games that use a lot of graphic card power to see the limits. I also have an XP machine with a P4 1.6ghz 40gb hard drive, 1 gb of ram. Of course, this one has XP unlike the other machine(main one) which has Windows 7 pro on it. This machine also came with a Geforce 2 PCI graphics card which can help run some games as well. Then there is the last desktop which is my "classic" machine. The old timer has a processor of 166mhz Celeron or something like that. It runs Windows 98se well and I took the liberty in installing it a sound blaster 16 card which uses an ISA slot(Yeah you don't hear of those anymore). I also added a 4mb graphics card for the old games if needed. It's enough to run them so it's all I needed. And that's not all, photos and more info below!

As you can see in this photo there is PS1 with LCD screen which I use when I am bored out of my mind and want to play a quick game of either Street Fighter Alpha or King of Fighters. There are many other games I have for this little console which is also moded so it opens the doors for tons of new never before seen imports. You can see the monitor next to it is from my main PC while the one on the side with Commander Keen 4 on it is the classic desktop's monitor. I also have two keyboards there, one wireless and the other one with wires. I also have two mice, one wireless and one with wires.

Here is a close up of the keyboard area which also has a USB hub so I can add four extra USB connections. They work well because I have two printers connected to my main PC for work purposes. You can also see my external hard drive which is already full(500 gb of stuff!) so I will need to get a new one sometime in the future. I have a lot of discs I need to back up!

So here are my three desktops. From left to right(new, middle, old). On top of the new one is the control of the speakers as well as the subwoofer while on top of the middle desktop there is a balance that works via USB that I use to weight the items I sale on ebay so that I can print a shipping label via-paypal. It works great!

Here are my two printers, one laser(the big one) and one crappy inkjet. I only keep the inkjet because the laser printer only prints in black and white. Inkjet on the other hand can print in color. Besides, I just bought the cartridges for the inkjet like a month ago.
And here is a closer photo of the monster laser printer. It can do everything!! HOORRRAAAYYYY!

Computer Fix WIP Update!

Well I was able to fix the drivers for the ethernet card thanks to my good old friend MNDemitri har har har. Thank you master! Anyways, I still have one more set of drivers to install as well as the 2nd hard drive. Lets see how things will turn out.

Computer Fix WIP

So here is what I've done so far with the desktop:
-Added a new hard drive (20 gb)
-Added a new DVD drive (16 x dvdrw)
-Fresh copy of Windows 98se(For some reason the manual of the desktop mentions that it's not compatible with Windows 2000 and I can't figure out why)

So far that's what I have added and there are some things left to be done:
-Install sound drivers
-Install Ethernet card
-Install programs including anti-virus
-Install second hard drive(30 gb)

There are still many things to add but I'll get to them eventually. It's still odd that this machine doesn't support Windows 2000.....really weird...

Fixing a PC

Well I finally got that old desktop running with the correct video drivers but I'm still having problems with the sound drivers. Any advice or sites that will help me find the right drivers would be nice. If not, in the future I'll purchase a cheap sound card and try it out. I also can't seem to find the right drivers for the ethernet card that came with it. Other than that, the desktop is running flawless. I'm currently trying to add a second hard drive but it looks like I'm going to need some jumper help to figure out how the desktop will recognize the second hard drive. I'm also switching the cd drives and adding two of them. Setting these to their master/slave modes is a lot easier. That's about it for now until next time...

Some Updates

Well I have recently changed hobbies for the time being until I get back on my feet har har har....I've been trying to fix up this old desktop I had for almost a year. It was just there in my closet and I finally got tired of looking at it so I started working on it. The desktop itself was a mess...I had to change the hard drive and disk drives but I got it up and working with a clean copy of windows 98se since it doesn't support 2000 for some reason and I don't want to waste my only legit copy of XP I have so 98SE will have to do. Installing and finding the drivers has been the most challenging stuff since the computer I have is from the year 2000 if I'm correct. Well I was able to knock down the graphics card driver which makes the desktop look so much prettier as well as some mother board drivers. The one I'm having some big trouble with is the sound driver but I'll try my best to fix it up if not just get a cheapo sound card for the sound. One last thing I want to do is add another cd drive to the computer as well as a second hard drive I have laying around. What am I going to use this desktop for? Probably nothing but more importantly, it'll be a back up PC just in case my super powerful desktop dies on me. Then again, I have my laptop but overall I think this is a real fun project I'm working on. I will show you photos of the desktop and the wip(work in progress) it's currently on.
