Finds 1702: Recently Moded Legends Gamer Mini

This is a real treat. I was at the thrift store and ran into this big arcade joystick with 100 games on it. I came to find out that you can actually mod it and add console games as well as arcade games. 5000 games added to it and it's the ultimate entertainment center! I will add as much as I can. The consoles I've added are NES, SNES, Genesis, and some Turbo Grafx. This thing is amazing! Not only that, but I've added a bunch of arcade games including the classic fighting games and beat 'em ups. I highly recommend this arcade joystick with mini console.

Finds 1578: Weekend Pick Ups! Windows 7 Pro, Dexxa Control Pad, Atari Flashback, and Arcade Legends

A very odd day where I had to go to different thrift stores to actually find something interesting turned out into a couple of interesting things. I don't usually go for plug n play consoles but I did a little research on these and thought these would be worth it especially since they were half off. One is the Atari Flashback 7800 which I thought had 7800 games but turned out that that's just the same of the model. It's kind of misleading but it's still a really cool little console. The other one is the Arcade Legends which comes with 50 built in games. The really cool thing about this one is that it has an SD card slot to upgrade the firmware which then enables you to play even more games including the entire Sega Genesis library. I have seen that the update makes other consoles playable as well so if you ever run into this little console, definitely check it out as it's totally worth a pick up. The controller I got CIB is called the Dexxa Control Pad and was made for IBM Computers. I always love picking these up even though they may not be the best options. A lot of times, you are just better off with the classic Gravis Ultrapad. It will make a really cool display piece. I also ended up getting some software including a Casino Game Pack for older OS such as Windows 3.11 and 95 as well as an installation disk for Windows 7 pro which I thought was really cool. Overall, random little things that make hunting a worthwhile time.

Finds 1412: Replicade Dragons Lair Mini Cab

This is one mini arcade cab that I had been waiting for a while. It's Dragon's Lair! What's Dragon's Lair? Well, it's a pretty amazing arcade game that made a lot of us waste our money back in the day. I played this so many times and lost badly, it's just a tough one. It was made to take your money that's for sure. This is a replica of the arcade game that comes with lots of nice extras such as tokens and even a mini Laserdisc player with the disc and remote. It's so amazing. The cab will go nicely with my other mini cabs even though it's a little bigger but that works. I have another phot below of the opened product. 

The graphics on the box are amazing. I am impressed, really impressed. The game plays great and you can even plug it into your tv via-hdmi to play it. What an amazing mini cab, I'll keep my eyes out for another one of these...maybe another memorable game is coming...

Here are a couple of mini arcade cabs I got recently minus the Burger Time. I got the Rolling Thunder and Galaga ones from Gamestop on clearance. They were a nice addition. This lost game is finally getting a release in physical form! It's one very few people ever heard of but it's been talked about lately and the day is finally here. This game is being released in a collector's edition as well as a regular version. A little info about this game, the game was completed and ready to released but was held off because it was a 2D platformer and thought it would be dated for the time. We are talking 1992 here! it's pretty crazy to think that but one has to think that Arcade machines were more advanced than consoles at that time. 3D was just starting to take off as well. Finds 1153: Final Loot from Toys R Us!

A bitter sweet end to the once toy giant. My final trip to the store was as sad as everyone else might have experienced when going there. Empty shelves and a shadow of its old self was left in the store. I still got some good shit! Q-bert figurine and a mini arcade of Burger Time. I suck at the game, but totally worth it. It's crazy that my final purchases there were of retro related items. You shall be missed Toys r Us!

Retro Game of the Week 163: Gun Smoke (Arcade)

If you want a challenge, Gun Smoke is definitely the game for you. Starting the game, you will realize that you will have to spam three main buttons in order to defeat all the bad guys around you. One button shoots to the left, the other to the middle, and the other one to the right. You also have to move along and dodge bullets because one shot and you're dead unless you're on a horse, then your horse can take the shots. The game can get insanely difficult insanely quick! It'll take lots of practice in order to get far in the game. I believe there are ten stages but I could be wrong. I've only managed to make it to the second stage. I shall keep practicing!

This week, we have a very addictive game called Snow Bros. This game was also released in other consoles but we are going to focus on the arcade release. The game gets quite challenging and definitely a fun two player game. So, the thing is, in order to get far in this game you must get the power ups which come in potions. Get all of them in order to move faster, shoot further, and shoot stronger. These are crucial but not necessary if you want to get further in the game or just want a high score. There is a boss every ten stages so be ready. The easiest way to get the potions is to make combo kills of your enemies so you will definitely need to master them in order to power up as fast as possible. Shoot them bad guys, turn them into snow balls and rack up some amazing points. You'll have lots of fun!

Retro Game of the Week 160: Baseball Stars 2 (Arcade)

This week's pick is some awesome arcade action with Baseball Stars 2 for the arcade by SNK. SNK was the top of the line arcade games of the early 90s and it was just one quality hit after another. They took the baseball genre and gave it an awesome arcade feel that's fun to this day. Believe me, I have been streaming this game a couple of times.

The game plays like any other baseball game but with awesome animations and gameplay. When the pitcher gets tired, it will show with his emotions. You can also power up for a super bat in order for a better chance at a hit or homerun. The game plays like any other baseball game of its time. You have to be quick when the ball comes to you and the pitcher will try to make you chase the balls in order to strike you out. 

The game is a lot of fun and even helps you out when you are in a pickle. You will need lots of quarters in order to finish a single game and compete for the pennant but that's why MAME is here for. I can only imagine the amount of money you would have to drop in order to complete this game. Nevertheless, another wonderful hit by SNK.
