Finds 210: Disk System Games + Case!

Here is a very neat find that finally arrived. Five disk system games(pirates) and a case to carry them on....never quite heard of that. Although I can't test the games thanks to my Disk System breaking, I can find some use for the case. Overall a very interesting find.

Retro Game of the Week 043: Gimmick! (FC)

So here it is, I was finally able to get a physical copy of this wonderful game and even though it doesn't contain the special sound chip, I was able to enjoy the gameplay of a game like no other! Gimmick! is one of a kind and it's the pick of this week!(or two weeks ago to be precise)

The game is very simple. You are this toy, you can move, therefore you must beat the levels! At least, that's what I could make up of it har har har....the game is not your average platformer. The game showcases the NES/Famicom graphics at its best. Sometimes you think you are playing a SNES game believe it or not. They bring the NES/Famicom to its limits and in some ways opened up new ones(sound chip). The game tends to start very easy but after level three or so, you will be wanting to break your head open with its difficulty. I haven't managed to finish the game myself even though my copy of Gimmick! starts you up with 30 lives. By level 3, I have already wasted half of those. I think I just need some practice.

The game is a treat to look at and will make you showcase the best of your skills all the way to the end so it's highly worth it for hardcore retro gaming fans. The game is also very expensive so be ready to spend the big bucks for it or just be a cheap bastard and play the rom. Either way, pick it up and play! it's Gimmick!

Retro Game of the Week 042: Gargoyle's Quest 2(NES)

Once more I am late in my entries for the weekly pics, I am three behind so lets get started. This time around another NES title that grabbed my attention is chosen. Gargoyle's Quest 2 for the NES makes not much sense title wise, but it doesn't matter, it's all about the gameplay. Everything was about the gameplay back then, and even though we got it wrong back then and still get it wrong today, we can still play some great games that some developers got right. Gargoyle's Quest 2 is one of those side scrollers that shows of the NES capabilities of side scrollers....There were plenty for the console and some of them were just damn horrible it made me want to blow up the develeper's head quarters but there were some others that were just right.

The game has an overview which makes it look a lot like the Dragon Warrior games but also once you enter a level, the game suddenly changes to a side scroller style level. It was very unique to combine these two gameplay techniques in one for its time. The gameplay is very interesting as you can use many techniques such as flying for a short period of time or shooting fire to defeat your enemies.

The game is just your average side scroller but this time around it was done right, the music is spendlid and the graphics are what you expected a NES game to deliver. It might now be a Gimmick! but it's better than most of the other crap around! This one is highly recommended! It's also not that expensive! You must get this classic for the NES!

Finds 208: A sole find, better than nothing!

Well haven't been hunting latelly because I just can't get rid of all the stuff I want to sell! I will go all out tonight on that but at least I was able to pick up this Pokeymon game for three dollars at the thrift. I was more looking for legos so I can build the tower which will be the center point of Famicom City. Gotta take it one step at a time....behold POKEYMON!!

Windows 7 FTW

Wow what a difference upgrading from a bad OS to a decent OS makes! The ram is not eaten up by the horrible windows vista anymore and I have more room and less errors than ever before! I gotta tell ya, upgrading my desktop and laptop to windows 7 is truly amazing! The difference is wonderful. From risking to downgrading to XP with the fear that most of the programs I have won't work as well as the motherboard drivers, windows 7 was the only answer. Thank goodness it worked for the best. Now all that's left is to enjoy it! Gotta get all my programs installed again though but I have gotten most of them working already horray!

DOS Month, this July!

I haven't done this since I had my website back in 1999! But yeah, decided to bring the tradition of DOS month starting this July 1st. What is DOS Month you say? It's pretty much a celebration of DOS games(a set of 31 games, one for each day) in which you will see some of the kewlest titles for the old DOS era. If you don't get to see your favorite game this month, don't worry! request it for next year's DOS month. There will be a different mention of a game every single day so don't miss it! YOU CANT!! It's time to go back to the past this July! Cya there!

Why no new youtube videos? I have a reason!

Well the reason I haven't posted any new videos is because I am working on a new way to record them. I have an extra pc that I am working on upgrading and such. I am going to buy a tv capture card so that I can record console gaming at its purest and therefore upload it to youtube. it'll definitely make my gameplay videos more appealing as I am used to using those older controllers rather than a PS2 controller plugged in by USB. So I'll keep you guys posted on how things are going on. I am adding a graphics card, as well as a real good sound card to this older PC. It should be kick ass when it's done!

Finds 206: More New Arrivals

Got a package today and was very happy with the contents of it. A little bit of everything as you can see.

Too lazy to type info on all of them, so this time around, figure it out for yourself har har har...

Finds 205: Gimmick!, the wait is over!

So finally it's here, Gimmick! for the Famicom(although pirate) but it doesn't matter! The game plays great and really took the Famicom to its limits and new limits if you count the sound chip the original came with. Sadly, the pirate doesn't come with it but as all games go, it's all about the gameplay. I'm also glad the game starts you with 30 lives. Can't beat that! Also, the game came with a Polish Contra manual which is really neat. I will surely save this piece of piracy goodness.

Finds 203: Back to Play n Trade! Various Goodness!

Well in one of my trips down south I was able to localize a local Play n Trade from that area and able to pick up lots of neat stuff! Here we go!
Picked up a couple of boxed 3DO games, Gex and Guardian War. Both are cib too, the 3DO boxes are huge!
Picked these up as well. The legendary Doom for the Saturn and some gambling game with girls on it, can't beat that!
Picked these up as well. Sonic and Knuckles for Sega PC errr PC, Breath of Fire 3 and 4, Up there is a James Pond 2 for Game Gear, Daydreamin Davey for the NES, and the top left Whip Rush for the Genesis. Great stuff and new additions to my collection.

So that's all for now, lots of neat additions for some consoles that I never though I would find games for(3DO) and some others that need a rerun of gaming goodness(PS1). That's all this time around.

Finds 200: Famicom Goodness, the reason I collect!

Well it took a while to get here but just in the nick of time. New famicom stuff and probably one of the more interesting finds I will ever have. So lets begin!

Here we have Final Fight Guy CIB for the Super Famicom. It's one of the games I always wanted to play as you can play as GUY! WOOT!! There is also on the right a Virtual Boy game called Virtual 3D shooting Game which is of course a virtual boy shooting game. I heard it sucks but one must wonder if there is anything more to it.
Here we have nine Famicom Disk System games. 8 of them are CIB as you can see while the one in the bottom is missing the box. It's odd enough to bring a cassette tape....makes me want to find me a cassette player to listen what amazing message from the past it withholds! As you can see there are some known titles for the disk system like Mario Golf and Doki Doki Panic!
Here we have five pirate carts which were declared non working. I was able to work my magic and make four of the five work again. The one that didn't make it? Mortal Kombat 2....
Here are more pirates and some official carts. Starting from the top you have Adventures of Lolo, Spelunker, Rockman X, Pocket Monsters Gold, and Shin Chan. I didn't realized I already had Pocket Monsters Gold so this is a duplicate I will sell off when I get a chance. The Shin Chan is unique in many ways....

This is one of the ways it's unique, the label art is just well you tell me! Enjoy this shot you child molesting bastards!
I was able to pick up more porno famicom games. These are from the Mimi series. I really liked the first one I got, it's more interesting box art wise.
Here is another one, this is #4 of the series.
Here is #1 of the series. I'm not sure, but I think I need an special adapter to play these horny games.
All the boxes have the same artwork in the back. See all those wonderful gals waiting for you big boy?
Here we have another one, released by Super Pig, makes you wonder what magical girls it might contain.
To finish things off, here is the only porno Famicom game I have that is an actual cartridge. I played it and I have no idea how to win. It's ok though, the box art makes up for the lack of understanding I have to play this game.

OHHHHH YEAHHHHHH!!!!!! I AM IN HEAVEN!!

Anyways, this was truly worth a 200th finds post. There is still so much to come as my collection is just getting started. Please be sure to comment and check out my items for sale on eBay, who knows you might see one of these in my shoppe someday! har har har! Thanks everyone and lets get to 300 now!!!

Retro Game of the Week 041: TMNT IV Turtles in Time(SNES)

This was the first ever SNES title I ever got with the good old console and what an awesome ordeal! The game is just amazing and prove how close consoles were getting to the arcade machines we praised so much in the early 90s. The only thing the game is missing is the four player feature which would have made it a perfection of all perfection for the SNES. Anyhow, this game gave me endless hours of fun. I can play it over and over without getting bored.

Konami made sure you played their games to the death. The only way to see the real ending is to beat this game in hard, you have no other choice. Unlike today's games, this was what gaming was all about. The game is full of amazing gameplay and great animation. This game started to show what the SNES could do and what the Genesis couldn't do. Speaking of the Genesis, the game completely changed with another story but similar gameplay. The game was fun as well but in my personal opinion, the SNES rules on top.

What else to say about this gem? the game has some interesting options like changing the turtles colors from the cartoon to something called comic. Each turtle has their own strengths and weaknesses. Picking up this game will cost you at least 20 dollars loose but if you are as lucky as me, you will find a CIB copy for 2 bucks. Har har har! Until next time!

One finds trip left...just one....

Find of the Month (MAY) Prototype!

With so many amazing finds, I had to pick just one that was out of this world. There was a NES deluxe set, Gold N64, a lot of 50 disk system games, a huge lot of n64 console and games, among other things.... In the end, the prototype I found was the most interesting and best find I could think of. That's something you don't find any day you know, at least for me. Should I say anything else?
Isn't in beautiful? Let me know what you think!
