Retro Gaming News: "Pac-Man Xtreme" Officially Released

"On September 17 2016, after eleven long years of hard work, ROMhacker “KaBooM!” finally releases “Pac-Man Xtreme”. A ROMhack of the Namco version of Ms. Pac-Man for the Nintendo NES, it is much more than a simple maze/level hack. Pac-Man Xtreme introduces new features, functions, and options which make playing it a truly unique experience. Almost every single aspect of the original Ms. Pac-Man game has been altered… graphics, sounds and music, levels, even gameplay mechanics. In essence, Pac-Man Xtreme is a new commercial-quality game reprogrammed around Ms. Pac-Man’s engine and is thus virtually unrecognizable from its predecessor.
Some of the most notable new features are the inclusion of working vertical tunnels, randomly vanishing mazes, all-new original levels, new original sound effects and music, four different stage progression modes, tons of selectable game options, and the brand new ability to cast relocation spells upon all characters in the level at once moving them to more advantageous positions within the maze.
Please visit Pac-Man Xtreme’s RHDN project page for a full list of all features and changes. The “Pac-Man Xtreme - File Package”, downloadable from that page, contains the required .IPS patches as well as loads of extra supplemental material and documentation."

Ads from the past 304: Simpson Games

Bart looks like a gangster in this ad. Is he trying to look cool? I mean, in the games he's completely useless and weak! Don't have a cow man! Also, what's with that jacket? What was he trying to pull? The only credit I give to this ad is that fact that the show was actually good when this ad was released so they can get away with it.

Finds 343: Pokemon Monopoly, Arkanoid 2 for Apple 2, and More!

I actually picked these new acquisitions yesterday but was too lazy to post about them today. I gotta say, yesterday was a very odd day for me and I just couldn't get much done for some reason. Nevertheless, after cycling for 15 miles I got the thrift store and started my hunt. I came up with some interesting items for sure! Lets check them out!

Games Turned Into Anime#3 - Devil May Cry

The first Devil May Cry Game was release in Japan on the ps2 on August 23, 2001.Three other great games were released later on with a 5th game on the way. The Devil May Cry anime was released in 2007 and was quite popular with the public.
I enjoyed all 4 game releases of Devil May Cry , so if you haven't tried any of the games I think you would quite enjoy them.
The Devil May Cry anime was a good watch because it was a nice side story to the games that were released

Animes Turned into Games #1 - Akira

Akira is a animated film that was released in Japan on July 16, 1988. This film became popular quite fast and was later on dubbed and released in North America later on but didn't do anywheres near as well as it did in Japan.
Just like most films that are released a Akira video game was released on the Famicom system in the winter of 1988 . The Akira game for the Famicom in my opinion sucked extremely bad and didn't help the animated film in any way.

So if your bored and want something to watch I recommend this movie. If your bored and want a game to play, play something else.

Games Turned Into Anime #2 - Devil Kings

Devil Kings was released in Japan on the PS2 on July 21, 2005.Devil Kings was finally made into a anime called Sengoku Basara on April 1, 2009. The anime's plot is fairy close to the actual game compared to other animes that have been derived from games.
You would enjoy Devil Kings if you enjoy hack and slash games with tons of senseless button mashing.
Sengoku Basara is a good watch if you like to see tons of never ending sword fights that are extremely unrealistic.

Finds 236: Pokemon Stuff and Xbox 360 Controllers!

Another hunt at the local thrift stores with good results. This time around I was able to pick up a limited edition Gameboy Color as well as a Pokemon board game. But that's not all, I also picked up two Xbox 360 controllers but did they work? Lets find out!
Here we have the Special Edition Gameboy color. There were quite a few of them released with the different games. Sadly, I already have this one but for seven bucks I couldn't say no. The screen is a little scratched up but it runs the game real well and with sound! I might just keep this one as well but I don't know just yet....we'll see.
When it comes to next gen I usually step away, but I couldn't say no to this deal especially since I heard of the upcoming Atlus title from the creators of the Shin Megami Tensei series coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3! Yeah, I don't think I even have to tell you the name! Anyways, I picked these two controllers for 2.95 which kept me wondering if it was a good price for controllers, I think it was. Anyways, as for testing them I was able to get one of them to search for the signal and will further test it on Friday with my friend's Xbox 360. The other one had some problems as the acid in the batteries left the dried acid thing so I had to get some water with baking soda and a swab to clean the battery contacts. I'm happy to announce that it worked and the signal light turned on, now all that's left is to test them out on Friday. I hope for a successful test run!
Finally, I was able to pick this up for 1.95. I don't know much about it but it's Pokemon so it has to be somewhat fun right? I don't even know if it's complete, guess I can count all 150 Pokemon which I know by heart har har har!

So that's it for now, lots of interesting findings this time around and will definitely keep you posted on the Xbox 360 controllers. Cya later alligator!

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller

Package Coming in a Month!

Well seems like I will have to wait a month for some awesome pirates that are coming my way. I was hoping one of them would compete with Valkyrie Profile for the Find of the Month honors but it looks like it will be for next month. I won't tell you the titles to keep things interesting har har har.... I guess I have to be patient.

Nothing but gaming

Hmm I had a very interesting day off and another day off coming tomorrow err today. Well, first of all I had planned to game all day and check out the merchandise I need to let go but I ended sleeping through the whole day and then I watched a movie on TV...it's funny how you plan things but never get anything done. Well, in a few moments I'm going to try to do my routine again and hopefully be successful at it this time around. It's time for some Persona IV WOOOOOHOOOOO then maybe some Famicom pirate carts and finish things off with some PES(Pro Evolution Soccer)....I have a lot of things to do tomorrow but there is always time right? right!

I hope that very special item will arrive before the end of the month because it'll surely make it the find of the month with no other competition at hand. har har har!

Pokemon Gold/Silver are Finally here!

Well today is the day.....I'm heading to pick up my copy early today and so should you! It's time to train those damn pokeymons once again. This is a great chance to play these games I missed the first time around. I'm still not sure why I didn't picked these up when they were released on the good old Game Boy Color since I started back all the way with Red/Blue but oh well. Not missing them this time around. I assume the Crystal remake will follow these. Cya later!

Marios for the Cube

I was finally able to play the new Mario games for the Gamecube I picked up at the thrift store and was happy with the gameplay. Mario Tennis is a great title for multi-player since four people can play the game at the same time. I also enjoyed Mario Golf which is mostly one player at the same time. I did played the first tournament and won it with a -1 score har har har. Then I played the Mario Baseball game which was really fun and has some interesting gameplay. I wasn't able to play each game fully but I have seen a lot that I like so far. All these Mario games are very good choices to play with someone else. Well that's all, I will try to play some more of these games as well as Super R-Type and also try out Tobal #2. har har har Happy December!

Some Updates

Well haven't had time to update this blog but I'll keep it updated as much as I can. Anyways, after beating Star Fox 64 I'm thinking of the next title to beat. I'm very picky so it'll be a tough choice. In other news, I'm going to be planning another flea market trip sometime soon. I'm working a lot of extra hours so I'll have the extra money to invest on this trip. I'm still working on new gameplay videos. I hope to have something soon but things are just going slowly. I'm also going to have internet, phone, and cable very soon once again so I'll be updating a lot of stuff more often!

I have some stuff coming soon so stay tuned! Take care!
