So going back to my classic collection I decided to play some Famicom Pirate Stuff. First off was Super Mario Bros 2J which was quite fun until you reach those god forsaken tougher levels. Since this is the pirate cart though, I was able to skip them in the title screen. It makes me wonder why I didn't though about it before I started from scratch.

Playing Then, Playing Now 012: Sonic CD, The Simpsons, and More!

So what I've been gaming lately? A whole lot of retro games that's for sure. I recently picked up Sonic CD and enjoyed it so much I even picked it as a retro game of the week. Anyways, I'm happy to announce that it's over, yup I finished the game about an hour ago and I'm real happy with the ending. Battling metal Sonic was also quite fun. What an amazing game with lots of features. I didn't quite understood the whole past/future thing but I don't think it made much of a difference. Maybe the time stones you collect throughout the game has something to do with it? I'm eventually going to play it again with Tails as he became available now woohooo!

Playing Then, Playing Now 010: Sonic Generations & Devil Survivor 3DS

So for this entry there isn't much to say except Sonic Generations. I was able to pick this game up for 22 dollars at the flea market. It's obviously a cheaper price than such places like Gamestop and Best Boy so it was a no brainer to pick such a gem up. My girlfriend was also all over my case about how great this game was and her being a huge Sonic fan, I had to listen to her. The game is quite good nonetheless and really does justice to what a Sonic game is supposed to be about.
There is nothing much more I can say about this game as I just started playing it but I gotta say it does look beautiful and the gameplay can get quite challenging. Best of all, you fight Metal Sonic in one of the stages! Be sure to pick this game up if you haven't yet, it's literally a blast from the past!
I also got this game in the mail this week and decided to try it out. The game itself is pretty interesting and has similar gameplay to the previous Shin Megami Tensei games. I'll have more info on this title as I get to play it more and more.
Not that much gaming due to the holidays and you would think it would be the other way around but it's not. I really have to make it up! Until next year!!

Playing Then, Playing Now 009: Un Nuevo Sol Gaming

Hmm so there hasn't been much gaming due to a lot of things going on my life. A promotion, changes in my lifestyle, and even too much to handle have all come my way. I have been able to deal with them and that's why I'm here. First of all, you can see the photo up there of myself holding currency from another country. Why you ask? It's the currency from where I'm from, Peru. Just holding this coin reminded me how I used to go to the arcades back then to play some awesome games. Half of the Un Nuevo Sold would pay for two games so we can call it .50 cents per game. Of course, I know all the different places and arcades around my neighborhood so I would end up going to the cheap arcade which had a little older games but a wider variety and be able to use the Un Nuevo Sol coin for up to five games! Yeah, that's like .20 cents per game. Isn't that awesome? Now you know why I'm such a game freak! Endless hours would pass by until the sun would set and I would head home. Great memories indeed....so this week, I don't have much gaming but two games on the horizon are here! Check them out!
The Quest for Balloon Kid continues as I reached stage seven but guess what? I'm down to my last life. I had to pause the game and exit to my main 3DS screen. Of course, the game was paused and saved so I will give it a shot when I'm feeling it because that's about it. I'm down to one life, 0 continues, and no balloons! I shall be victorious!

3D Dot Heroes for the PS3 finally got some game time. I was able to beat dungeon two and will be heading to the desert. I also got a PS3 trophy for taking snapshots. Pretty neat huh? I shall continue my quest and wow the HDMI cable makes this game look even sexier. So that's all the gaming for the past week and a half. I shall have more updates in the coming weeks! Till then, be safe and game smart!

Playing Then, Playing Now 002: Not Much NES

Persona IV save file gone!
I was shocked earlier this week to find out that my Persona 4 save game file was corrupted! Can you believe it? OMG My entire work gone! Luckily a very special someone is sending me a memory card with her save file which is just by the part where I left off, isn't that an awesome coincidence? Thank you hunny bunny!!!! AHHHHH! I can't wait for it to arrive so I can continue my Persona 4 quest and finally finish it off. That's all for this week!

NES Cellphone Emulator
So this week hasn't been much different from last week. I have been gaming on some Zelda 3DS but am getting excited at some of the future 3DS releases that will surely be worthwhile. In the meantime, I tried a NES emulator on my cell during break time at work. It's ok but I can't get used to the touch screen buttons. I'm so used to a gamepad! I guess I can always play RPGs with it since they are a lot slower-paced than other genres.
