This is a very exclusive bag from the Club Nintendo site. It's not available anymore but I'm pretty sure it'll make its way to the interweb by other sources.

Retro Gaming News: Legend of Link 1.2 Released
"Various ancient legends have been recorded of a young boy clothed in green, wielding the mythical master sword, sealing away all evil throughout the land. His ventures, passed down through generations have become legend. The hero of legend, had many different forms. He saved many kingdoms, restoring peace in all the lands. This is but one of the legends, of which the people speak…
Here is a ROM hack for the Legend of Zelda which has had many hours put into it (just shy of 3 years), ASM and coding changes, and graphics overhauls. New items have replaced the old ones in the original game and new concepts have been used in the game such as pitfalls, dash boots, the use of the hammer, and many more changes have been added to give the game a much new feel to it. Also the inclusion of the Capcom sound engine is another welcome change that has been added to the game.
For more details on the patch and how the project progressed over time please visit this site to take a look at how it started and how it came to its closing end.
Please use Lunar IPS, for patching & make sure you use the PRG0 version of the ROM otherwise the ROM will not work properly. Enjoy!
Now for the rom specs Converted from MMC1 to MMC5 1MB PRG-ROM 1MB CHR-ROM 8KB SRAM Inserted custom MMC5 irq engine Installed custom modified Capcom 6C80 Sound Engine, with DPCM usage
Will this work on…? This game will NOT work on the N8 Everdrive, or PowerPak’s. The N8 Everdrive uses 512kb PRG & CHR-ROM. I contacted the creator, but he wasn’t interested in creating a revision to his product. PowerPak’s are in the same boat. Loopy’s MMC5 patch works on MMC5 games, but, my work is too large for it to handle.
The game has been tested on the following emulators
- FCEUX PC
- Nestopia PC
- Nintendulator PC v0.975 Unofficial Release
- Nintendulator PC v0.970 Official Release
- nesDS Special Build
- Retroarch Using Nestopia Core Wii/WiiU
- (Android Users) - NESEmu
There is a fast way to learn if my rom will play perfectly on an emulator you use. Watch the intro after the title screen fades away. I have a golden scroll moving up the screen. If that scroll & text comes up garbage, then you should stop playing unfortunately. This is because the emulator you are using, is not utilizing the MMC5 register $5130 correctly. I perform chr swaps for 3 specific things, the intro, a mini game, and the Ganon fight. If you continue to play the game with the garbaged gfx, it will obviously look bad, and it might even crash."

Retro Gaming News: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX Spanish Translation Released!
"
Game Review (by Garoth Moulinoski):
If there is a game that has eaten up more of my free time than I can remember, it’s this one. I wasted a lot of time playing Link’s Awakening. I would sometimes put different names for Link and pretend I was playing as that character, such as “Goku” and only using the Fire Rod, pretending I was using the Kamehameha. It’s silly, I know, but I was very young. It also illustrates how wonderful this game was.
The gameplay is a refinement of the original Legend of Zelda’s gameplay. Or would be, if A Link to the Past hadn’t been released first, but this game still feels closer to the original than LttP. You can move diagonally and you combine items together for the first only only time ever (unless you count the bomb arrows in Twilight Princess).
The graphics are superb. You can tell what everything is and although animations are simple, there’s a charm about them.
The sound for this game is good. Sound effects are good effective and the sound track is wonderful. Part of the game’s objective is to collect musical instruments, after all.
The story is more sophisticated than the first two Zelda’s. There’s a plot twist or two and it’s better fleshed out than in the first games. Not like I ever needed a deep story in a Zelda game than to go and beat up whatever villain was around.
I recommend this game to anyone with a soul. It’s probably the very best Zelda you could possibly play.

Retro Gaming News: The Legend of Zelda Spanish Translation Released!
"
Game Review (by Garoth Moulinoski):
If there’s a game that knows danger and adventure, it’s this one. You’re given a sword and then, you’re let off into the world to fight yourself through dungeons until you’re to collect all the required items to lead you to Ganon.
The game is rougher than its newer entries. You can only move in four directions and although Link moves pixel-by-pixel, it occasionally feels like an illusion as he still has to take a few steps, sometimes, to change directions that aren’t opposite to his current one. You never “swing” your sword, you only stab. Your money count is also your arrow ammo (but you still need to find a single arrow in order to use the bow). So the game is kinda weird. But it excels in atmosphere. You know you’re in a screwed up world when the only people you meet are hiding out in caves.
The graphics are primitive yet carry a charm about them like Super Mario Bros. or Final Fantasy do. At least you can tell what everything is.
The sound in this game is good too, although very limited. There’s only a few sound effects and like four tracks. It still manages to use them very well, however.
The story is simple. Ganon has kidnapped the Princess Zelda and you’re just the guy to go and rescue her. You have to collect the pieces of the Triforce the princess left behind in… dangerous dungeons, because no fair leaving them in an easy place, huh? Seriously, there’s no big plot twist or anything here. You go beat up bad guys until you rescue the princess.
I recommend this to any Zelda fan. I also recommend it for anyone who is into the action-adventure genre. Anyone looking for a challenge could also apply. This isn’t the game for someone who’s looking for a super deep story or a closed, “hey go from Point A to Point B” type of game. The world is open and you can literally go into the first three dungeons in any order you like.
Description:
This is yet another The Legend of Zelda translation into Spanish, but this one’s different! It’s been made to look like just an official translation released in Spain. The new script translation has been done thanks to the 2003 re-release (which fortunately was better written) and Legends of Localization’s exhaustive translation analysis. This includes hints properly indicated and credits staff names reverted to their real ones. Please enjoy this translation and don’t hesitate to contact me if you find any errors or issues!

Manual Monday 028: Zelda: The Adventures of Link (NES)
This is manual filled with awesome artwork. You really get a feel of what the game is about in comic book style story telling. I don't know if Zelda game nowadays relate to one another these days...
CIB Sunday 026: Zelda: The Adventures of Link (NES)
I just recently picked up this gem. It's a nice little adventure but tough as fuck! The game is memorable because of the incredibly hard final boss battle. If you find a way to beat it, you got guts!

Finds 718: Zelda Four Swords is Mine!
One of the best things about working at a game store is that eventually something arrives that's been evading you for so long. This is that something! I just know I had to have it! I need friends to play this game with!

CIB Sunday 019: The Legend of Zelda (NES)
It's another Sunday and that means there is another CIB entry to add. This time around, I've picked an instant classic, The Legend of Zelda for the NES. The game is just your run of the mill classic adventure game. The game gets tough as you get through the game. There is not much of a storyline, but there are a lot of triforce pieces to collect. That's definitely gotta mean something! Happy Sunday!

Finds 562: Radiant Historia and Zelda Gasha Figurines!
Here is a game I've been wanting for a while and was finally able to find it. Radiant Historia is one of those games that remind you of Chrono Trigger. I'm definitely planning on playing through this game. I also got some Gasha Zelda figurines from Gamestop. They're always fun to open to see its contents.

Ads from the past 257: Zelda Oracle of Ages and Seasons Spanish Ad
So here is another ad from the Latin American Nintendo magazine called Club Nintendo. I really love the Zelda games art for the Game Boy Color so this was a must release. The ad is based on the games from the Game Boy Color, called Zelda Oracle of Ages and Zelda Oracle of Seasons. These are classic titles for the handheld.

So after taking a little over a week of rest from my trip I decided it was time to get back to the flea market! I stumbled upon a lot of nothing for the most part but I did picked up some Dreamcast games from these nice folks and some Genesis games for my operations. There was one booth that took the cake mainly because it was packed with games! I checked out a grand majority of them and told them to hold them because I was going to the ATM! I picked up a lot of neat stuff and some great deals! Lets check them out!
Here are a bunch of games for different consoles. The Zelda Phantom Hourglass really caught my attention as I can use it for different things not just a DS lite! I also loved that Saturn controller and of course picked up some interesting games for the SNES and other consoles.
Here are some NES games which I mostly found for a dollar. The Tiny Toons and Ultima were the exceptions..
When I saw the Flintstones game I just had to have it! It's definitely one that I will enjoy so much! The rest were just random games I picked up since I had no idea what most of them were. I know now!
Here are some disc type games. Star Ocean, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Dreamcast Fighting games are shown. Not much for my collection so they are going on my shoppe!
A very good return to the flea market I missed a lot! At least here I don't have to look behind my back every other step looking for evildoers trying to pick my pockets! Ok, I'm just exaggerating too much!

Retro-bit of the day 108: The Legend of Zelda a Link's Awakening (GB)
This is one memorable game. I was lucky enough to get this game for mad cheap! I won't even tell you the price. Anyways, this is Link's Awakening for the Game Boy and believe me when I tell you that this cover art kicks ass! Don't you agree? The US release has such a lame cover art! What's wrong with them?? Anyways, enjoy today's retro-bit!

Zelda Commercial that started it all! Radical Factor to the Max!
I'm sure many of you are familiar with this awesome commercial. As lame as it may sound or look, I think this is one of the more original NES commercials in history. Haven't seen it? Well, here is your chance!

Happy 27th Birthday Link! The Legend of Zelda was born!
It's exactly 27 years ago that the Legend of Zelda was released for the 8-bit gem. We can't express enough how thankful we are for the endless games we have gotten of this franchise. It's definitely a legend and I can't wait for the next adventure. Happy Birthday Link! ^_^
