There is a little something here for fans of different generations of gaming!
As always, these latest additions are a great reminder of why hunting for retro games is so much fun. You never know which hidden gems you'll discover along the way!
🎮 A Closer Look at the Latest Finds
NEC TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine CD Games
The first row of additions features some intriguing titles from NEC's gaming library:
CyberCore – A classic-style shoot-'em-up that brings alien creatures, explosive action, and arcade-inspired gameplay to the collection.
Drop Off – A colorful action game with a distinctive skull-themed cover. Another interesting addition for fans of the NEC library.
Ghost Manor – A spooky action-adventure title that adds a touch of horror to this haul.
The next group includes two more interesting NEC releases:
Turrican – A sci-fi action platformer known for its sprawling environments, futuristic weaponry, and intense action.
Victory Run – A driving game featuring a sports car cruising through a city landscape. This is another addition that brings some variety to the collection.
Veigues - A really awesome tactical robot game.
These games help showcase the variety available across NEC's platforms, from action-packed adventures to unusual and memorable releases.
💀 PlayStation Horror: Deathtrap Dungeon
Deathtrap Dungeon is one of the standout additions in this haul. This PlayStation release takes players into a dangerous fantasy world filled with deadly traps, monsters, and challenging encounters.
Based on Ian Livingstone's Fighting Fantasy gamebook, the game brings a tabletop-inspired adventure into a 3D action setting. Its dark atmosphere and treacherous environments make it an interesting pick for collectors who appreciate the more unusual corners of the original PlayStation library.
🏙️ Sega Genesis: Shadowrun
The Sega Genesis section gets a great addition with Shadowrun.
Set in a cyberpunk future filled with corporate conspiracies, hackers, mercenaries, and supernatural elements, Shadowrun offers an atmospheric role-playing experience. Its combination of exploration, dialogue, combat, and futuristic storytelling makes it a memorable title from the Genesis era.
This is a particularly cool addition for anyone who enjoys games with darker settings and a strong science-fiction identity.
🔥 Sega Saturn: Black Fire
The Saturn lineup gets some explosive action with Black Fire.
This military-themed 3D action game puts players in control of a combat helicopter, taking on missions in a variety of dangerous environments. With its polygonal visuals and vehicle-based combat, Black Fire represents the kind of ambitious 3D gaming experience that helped define the mid-1990s transition into a new era of consoles.
Adding another Saturn title is always exciting, especially for collectors who enjoy exploring the system's library beyond its most famous releases.
🧩 TurboGrafx-16: Tricky Kick
One of the most eye-catching pieces in the photo is Tricky Kick for the TurboGrafx-16.
With its bright, colorful cover art and puzzle-oriented presentation, it stands out immediately among the darker and more action-heavy games in this haul. It's a welcome change of pace and another reminder that retro gaming collections are at their best when they include a wide variety of genres.
📦 Another Big Win for the Collection
This second part of the Kentucky trip haul has a great mix of systems and gaming experiences. From the cyberpunk world of Shadowrun to the dangerous fantasy of Deathtrap Dungeon, the helicopter action of Black Fire, and the colorful NEC and TurboGrafx-16 releases, these additions help make the collection more diverse.
One of the best parts of collecting retro games is discovering titles that might not always get the same attention as the biggest names in gaming history. Every game has its own story, artwork, gameplay style, and place in the history of the hobby.
And with this many additions from one trip, there is plenty to explore!
