Find of the Month (November)

Well this month has been so close as to pick the best find, but it all came clear once I started asking some friends about certain items. I had great finds like the Disk System Super Pig porn game or FC Genjin(Bonk's Adventure) but the one that definitely took the cake was the CIB NES 2! Yeah, there is nothing more beautiful than to have an old console boxed and in great shape. This was also a great pick of the month because last month I won the Japanese equivalent of the NES 2, the Famicom AV also boxed!

Anyways, I was never too close to the NES 2 although the only time I saw it in a store was back in 1995 and it was being sold for 49.99 at Woolworth. It was pretty kewl to see it but back then I was like ten years old and didn't had any money. Overall, I'm happy to add this piece to my collection. I hope to find some new great stuff this coming December to be able to show off some great items. I also hope to do a flea market trip before Christmas. So that's it, until next month!

Finds 140: Tobal #2 for the PS1

Here is a game I have had my eye on for a while. I loved the first one and sadly part 2 wasn't released here in the States but no fear, imports are here. I was able to pick this game on Ebay and for a great price! (99 cents + 3 dollars shipping). This game was released by Squaresoft and wouldn't you know it? The game has some RPG elements as well as a quest mode just like in part one. Anyways, I'll check out more of the game and although there is a language barrier, I feel I can play this game with ease. Until next time!

Finds 139: Pirate Famicom Games Goodness

Well here is another package I got from a friend of mine. Here are five new Famicom entries for my collection. Well there is one that I already seem to have but you can never have too much of something good. The top game in the photo is from the Kunio series. Most of you know it as the US release Super Dodge Ball. Next, is the green cart which surprisingly is Spy vs Spy which is an OK game. Next is the bottom left game which is TMNT 2 but it doesn't work that well for some reason. The cart does look beat up a lot and even though I cleaned it a lot, it still doesn't work that good. Next one is the right purple cart which is well Donkey Kong. There is nothing left to say about Donkey Kong, there is nothing much to say except it's Donkey Kong. The final one is the black cart on the bottom right which is a monkey boy game. I'm not sure the name so I can't say much. So that should be all for now. I have some small things coming in the mail soon so you'll have to stay tuned for more finds!!

Retro Game of the Week 020: Mega Man X(SNES)

Another Mega Man hit for the SNES. Although in my opinion there were many hits on the SNES involving the blue bomber, this one always brings me back. The game starts like no other Mega Man game has started before which is with a first level of no use but to move the story forward somehow. After that first level, almost all Mega Man games used that technique to introduce you to the game. The game takes a lot of advantage of the SNES pad for once. You have the R and L buttons that helps X change power ups and buttons such as A to help him dash.

The introduction to many other factors in a Mega Man game were introduced and although the series turned from good to bad in the final games(X6 and X7 mostly), it's still one of the more interesting series around. What I didn't liked as much is how they turned away from the more appealing Mega Man storyline. There is a lot of weirdness going on but in the end, it's acceptable. The gameplay is full shoot at everything around you style. It's a great game if you are just starting to play platformers or the SNES overall. I highly recommend it for any player starting to play SNES games. Until next week!

Finds 138: Another Mario Kart 64 + others!

Well I decided to take my friend to visit the thrift store(it was her first time) so I decided to check out what they had. She had some neat stuff as for me, I got games as usual. I got five PS2 titles including Devil May Cry and a Daxter game as well. I'm not that familiar with the rest but still neat finds. Then I found some N64 games as well as a golden Zelda cart. Great stuff for resale indeed! The thrift store was very packed this time around. Well that should do it for thrift shopping for this week. Check out the photos will ya?

Zelda for 1.95

PS2 games for 1.95 each!

N64 games were 2.95 each.

A pirate cart inside look 002: Supervision cart

Well I had some people look at this cart for a while and help me find some info on it. Supposedly the supervision series of NES looking carts mostly came with their adapter with Famicom boards connected to them. This is one reason why most of them are very heavy. Also, Supervision multi-carts are very unique in a way that they vaguely have any doubles in their multi-cart games. It's very interesting to find out all this info that might be useful for many but at least it's some interesting info for myself. Up next is a portable game! I'll have photos soon!

Finds 137: Nintendo 64 lot including 9 games!

Here is a lot I bought from craiglist tonight. I paid 40 dollars for it! It's pretty much for resale since the only game I don't have from that lot is the Chameleon Twist.

I'm happy with this stuff! Check out the photos!

Finds 136: Different Marios for the Gamecube

Well took a trip to the thrift store today and found nothing until I decided to check the DVD section and found these Mario games for the cube. I didn't had any of them so these are great additions to my cube collection. Anyways, I also picked up a Star Wars game for the same console. They cost me three dollars each so I didn't spent much on them.

Thank you DVR!

So today I got direct tv installed in my place and I couldn't be any happier! Now I can record programs while I am at work and see them when I get home! It's pretty awesome and neat. I just tried it out tonight and it worked like a charm. I recorded X-play and two episode of Ninja Warrior from G4. I didn't liked X-play that much but Ninja Warrior was really kewl.

So that's about it. I recommend anyone that hasn't tried DVR or anything similar to it! Cya later!

Finds 135: 8-Bit Pig Porn for the FDS is here!

Well here is one of the most interesting gaming finds of the month. Behold a new 8-bit porn for the Famicom Disk System! The game is still sealed so I haven't had time to test it yet. According to the seller, it works since it's brand new so that makes sense. Anyways, a company called Super Pig released a bunch of 8-bit adult oriented games back in the Famicom/Disk System era. The case of the game reminded me of the old over-sized music discs for a second. If I end up opening this game, I will show you its contents and a video of the game as well. That's all for now....you perverts...

Finds 134: Games from a Jedi

Here are some neat finds I got for free as a giveaway by a friend of mine. I'll refer to him as Jedi and I would like to thank him for these games. Trog is very interesting and fun while breakthru is another of your cool NES games. I didn't had a chance to play them much but I am very happy. Thank you Jedi once more!!

Retro Game of the Week 019: Super R-Type(SNES)

One of my favorite shmups back in the 90s and especially during the console wars of the SNES-Genesis was Super R-Type. I remember going to my friend's house just to play this game and had a blast with it. It's just one of those games that would leave me breathless. This game at least for the most part always keeps me wanting come for more. I'm glad I was able to find this game once again. I don't have to keep bothering my friend anymore to play it although I stopped doing that over ten years ago. Anyways, the gameplay is your solid shmup gameplay that involves a lot of shooting and a lot of power ups. The game of course increases in difficulty as you get to the later levels so take the first couple levels as training.

The game is also really great graphically and a must have for any shmups fanatic! The game can get quite challenging so if you are looking for a good challenge on shooting form, don't hesitate to try this one out. Like any game, you can master this one with practice. Some of you may need a lot of practice while others not much at all especially gamers that are used to these kind of games.

Overall, this is one of those games that brings back memories of my childhood. It's always great to have games like these. I'm sure many of you have sentimental games that'll give you a flashback of your youth. In this case, I always remember taking the controller away from my friend so that I would play it only to loose five seconds later. Let us keep those memories alive forever. Until next week!

Finds 133: Some Games including Super R-Type!

Well I decided to hit the thrift store during a little bit of free time and although my intentions were of getting stuff for the Christmas village I'm building, I ended up buying games for the most part. These are some interesting games especially Super R-type which I wanted for a while. I finally found a copy in the wild! Anyways, I paid 1.95 dollars for each of the two super nintendo games and found a copy of a GTA game for the ps2 for only 95 cents. Even the lady at the register was surprised the game was priced like that. Of course these are not the most kewl finds I had this month(think NES 2 Boxed) but they are one of the more interesting ones. I will try to have better luck next week but for now here is a photo of these finds!

Some Updates

Well haven't had time to update this blog but I'll keep it updated as much as I can. Anyways, after beating Star Fox 64 I'm thinking of the next title to beat. I'm very picky so it'll be a tough choice. In other news, I'm going to be planning another flea market trip sometime soon. I'm working a lot of extra hours so I'll have the extra money to invest on this trip. I'm still working on new gameplay videos. I hope to have something soon but things are just going slowly. I'm also going to have internet, phone, and cable very soon once again so I'll be updating a lot of stuff more often!

I have some stuff coming soon so stay tuned! Take care!

Retro Game of the Week 018: F-Zero(SNES)

One of the most amazingly classic racing games for the SNES is surely F-Zero. It was a very unique game for its time and deserves a spot at the Retro Game of the Week. The game is huge with lots of crazy tracks and your rivals as well. You have different difficulties to pick from as well as different tournaments to pick. The game is pretty simple except it's set in the future and the race tracks have uniqueness all over. One unique factor is that the sides of the roads damage your car so driving carefully is a must. You get a lot of help with the wings on the back of your car which will help you glide to the side by pressing the R(right) and L(left) accordingly.

The game also has a lot of difficult tracks even at the easiest settings. The tracks with the big ramps are one of the more difficult ones since you need to be at certain speed to be able to get pass it. You have to take the ramp with speed enough to pass it or else you will fall down to what I'm guessing is a circuit area? Anyways, your car will explode. One of the problems I had with this game is that damn about to explode car that I always knock into when I'm driving. He takes so much of my life and sometimes even kills me! My best strategy is usually to use a turbo when I see him. It's just me though.

Therefore, this is a very unique title to pick up and play. There are no two players so this is not a multiplayer game. You should also check out the GBA release as well as the awesome Nintendo 64 and Gamecube releases. Until next week!

Finds 131: NES 2 BOXED!! + GAMES!!! WOOOHOOO!

I was finally able to get this deal through. I finally have it with me! After spending 65 bucks on this lot, I'm very happy with my findings! The NES 2 not only came with the box and everything it should come with but it also came with a lot of fourteen games and as a mega bonus the seller threw in fourteen genesis games. That's not all, there were also some NES accessories as well! I had to drive almost half an hour but it was well worth it. Now to have a blast with my new findings. Here are some photos!

Why not check and see! har har har here are some photos!

Retro Game Ending 001: Star Fox 64 has been conquered!

Well last night I went in a very special gaming session. I have been playing Star Fox 64 on my Pokeymon N64 console ever since I got it. Anyways, after playing the game for the last couple of days, I finally decided to go all the way! I played through the first two levels with no problem and finally got to the showdown against Star Wolf. I was struggling against them until they started to fall down thanks to my slick shooting har har har....there were only seconds left and I started going against the rest of them. A good trick is to let Star Wolf follow your team members and get them while they are trying to shoot down your allies. Well, finally with one second left I shot down the pig and was able to save the base. It was a very exciting ending. My course changed to this sun like level where your ship takes damage so you need to keep shooting down fireballs and get the healing powers.

I finally got to the later levels including the one where you have to destroy the cargo train with the land tank thing you drive around. It was a nice change but I rather fly. The final level was pretty sweet as well. You fly through a whole set of monsters that keep coming at you. Then you get inside a temple and fight a stone monster. After that boss which was pretty easy, you get to fight against the face of the final boss? LOL yup you fight the face..... Andros is kind of hard...it's just a matter of finding the pattern and learning it. I wasted around three lives to defeat this guy but the ending was really worth it. The best part of course is the ending where Star Fox sends a bill for all the ships they have shot down. That's a lot of monah! har har har

Anyways, I think every time I beat a game which is not that often, I'll blog about my experience. Until next time!

Well haven't had much luck in the thrift store but I can at least still find stuff. Here is the stuff I got. I even forgot to take the price tags out so I don't even have to tell you what I paid for them. The two odyssey 2 games came in a bag that was two dollars though...

One last thing, I also got the battery for my SP. So I have a fully functional blue SP now har har har

Retro Game of the Week 017: FC Genjin(FC)

Well another week and another edition of retro game of the week. This time around I'm basing it off a game for the Famicom/NES that I just got in the mail not long ago. FC Genjin(Bonk's Adventure) for the Famicom is surely one not to miss. The game is your typical platformer that's unique in many ways. In this game, you take control of umm Bonk which is a big headed cave boy!

Anyways, here we go with the game! The game like I said is your usual platfomer. Probably the best part is when you find a piece of meat and eat it! Then Bonk goes crazy! Kinda of like the star power in Super Mario Bros. Afterward, Bonk stays in a tan color which gives him more powers. You can you Bonk's head to create an earthquake and destroy all the monsters that are currently in the screen. Your powers will be gone in no time so you have to use them to your advantage. The game plays a lot like say Joe and Mac for the same console. So I'm hoping this is enough to make you guys pick it up unique title. I'm sure that the TG-16 fans will agree the superiority of the Bonk games for that console. Since I haven't played them, I can't make a comparison. Hopefully, one day I will be able to pick those games up(even though I had the chance at a flea market and let it go....). Until next time!

Also credit for the photos goes to good old Nintendo Dork(Tyler) har har har

Finds 128: Nintendo 64 Pokeymon Edition

Well I got a craiglist find a couple of days ago but only posting about it now. It cost me 15 bucks so not a big investment. The only problem which I overlooked was that the first player connector thing is broken. I hear something inside so it may be loose. I'll have to open it up and check it out.
