Finds 309: Enter Max Play, The Popular Famiclone!

So with my trip coming to an end, I have to get busy and find the rarities I have come here to get! Lets see what I caught from my fishing line! This time around I went to a market that only opens on Sundays and is similar to the flea market. There was so much great stuff there with a lot of risks involving buying non working carts, getting robbed, and even getting lost! I was lucky enough to have my friend as a guide and went on to check out the place! I couldn't take photos because it was way too dangerous to bring your camera into. You have to have eyes behind your head in order to keep yourself warned of any funny business. Check these stuff out.

Here are a nice batch of pirate madness. Actually two of them are official carts that a good friend of mine gave to me as birthday gift! Oh yeah by the way, today is my birthday! There you have other games such as Street Fighter 2, Super Mario Bros 2j, Some porno card game, Ninja Crusaders(Also gift from good friend), and the rest that I already mentioned.

So here it is, the legendary Max Play which is really famous down here in South America. The console is very durable and unique in many ways. It has their own controller ports so only official Max Play controllers will work on it. The console looks to be built with great care and the controllers themselves are very good for any type of game. How did I bought this console? It's funny to mention it because I literally had to climb a mountain to get to the shoppe with it. Yes, I'm willing to do anything to find my retro gaming fix especially when it includes pirate stuff! I paid 40 soles for this console with the controllers and cables. I think it was a great deal as other places were asking for too much!

I got these magazines at that "mountain" shoppe for ten soles. These are back from the NES-SNES era and very kewl indeed. I'll probably show off some scans when I get home of certain ones especially that S.O.S. as it's packed with codes and tricks retro gaming style!

So that's it, there is just so much more I can talk about this hunting trip but I have to thank my friend that showed me the way and showed me the awesomeness of retro game collecting down here in Lima, Peru. Believe me, there is a huge community of retro game collectors down here each trying to find amazing items and they do in the end. You wouldn't believe all the great games and titles I came across but I let go out of respect. After all, I'm here for my piracy fix! HRA HAR HAR! Until next time!
