Here is a wave of awesomeness. Wave 3 of the Super 7 TMNT line is finally here and I was happy to add them to the growing Super 7 set of this series. This time around, we have April O’Neil, Michelangelo, Metalhead, and Rocksteady. The one figure I was impressed with the most is Rocksteady. The amount of detail I saw in the figure is just outstanding. Don’t get me wrong, the other figures come with their own perks but this one just blew my mind. Let’s take a closer look at them.
Here is the set! This is how they come and protects the real casing quite well. I have to say that these leave a lot to desire but it all makes sense when you open them.
The April O’Neil figure was one that a lot of people were waiting for because they weren’t happy with the NECA cartoon edition of it. I think they did a great job at mimicking the original design and got it quite right. The problem with this is that it got a lot of criticism because it didn’t looked like the cartoon one which makes no sense because this one wasn’t based on the cartoon one. It’s debatable, but if you think about it, makes sense.
This is my favorite figure of this wave. The Rocksteady figure has so much detail and it’s bigger than the other counterparts, it’s just beautiful. The only criticism that it got was the lack of an interchangeable head which all the other figures had so far and some new accessories. Now, you have to understand once again that these are being copied from the original toy line, not the cartoon.
The third turtle to come out is Mikey. he is another amazing figure and comes with tons of accessories. As usual, he comes with pizza box and slice along with interchangeable head and other accessories. it’s an amazing figure. I’m waiting for Donatello now!
Metalhead is another awesome figure that comes with tons of stuff! A different head as well and the gold finish definitely gives it a shiny look. I don’t have the gold finish but I’m also not that crazy about it. Overall, a very nice figurine.
