Pirate Game of the Week 007: Duck (FC)
This week we have a very obscure game called Duck. You might relate this game to the world famous Duck Hunt but you are totally wrong. Duck is something else! The game is very simple. You are a duck (Didn't see that coming) And you have an egg you need to carry to safety. It's odd though as the egg is the same size as the duck so maybe this duck is stealing some other animals' egg? Who knows but I'm sure the duck didn't lay the egg. That poor duck would have broken in half. Anyways, it's just a game so you can expect it to get out of reality after all. The game can be considered in the sidescroller/puzzler genre as it contains a little bit of both.
The game is very simple, just make way for your egg all the way to the bottom and try to evade the dogs that try to destroy your egg. It's usually easy at first but these nasty pups will start following you once they see you and destroy your baby in no time. There are also other obstacles like rocks and platforms you need to overcome to reach the bottom. good thing your duck can jump because you'll need it. It's usually a good idea to create your path before you drop your egg and be sure not to push your egg to a long fall or it'll break which makes sense in the end.
Overall, this game is quite fun and can get addicting if you are into pushing eggs off platforms. The dogs can get annoying so you'll have to be careful with them. I'm sure there are even more evil doers after your egg but the dogs are sure a handful. I do suggest you give it a try as finding a cartridge form of this game is quite hard so I do recommend emulation as your medium of play. So here is the rom for this wonderful game. I'm sure you'll have fun with it and I apologize for not uploading a rom for last week's post. So that's it, enjoy and until next week's pirate adventure arrrrrrrr!

So, is this some sort of unofficial release, or was it officially released (on cart) at some point? Also, who developed and published it?
It was released on cart at some point. You can find these pirates on different pirate carts! That's what is great about pirates :)
