Blog Entry: Mail Day Magic – Limited Run Delivers Clock Tower Rewind & Shockman Zero!
There's no feeling quite like opening a long-awaited Limited Run Games (LRG) package—and today, two retro-inspired gems finally arrived on my doorstep: Clock Tower: Rewind and Shockman Zero! These releases tap directly into the nostalgia vein, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally have them in hand.
Let’s take a closer look at each:
🕰️ Clock Tower: Rewind
Rating: T (Teen)
Published by: Limited Run Games / WayForward
Platform: Modern consoles (varies by edition)
The legendary 16-bit survival horror classic makes its long-overdue Western debut with Clock Tower: Rewind. This remastered edition not only preserves the original Super Famicom experience but enhances it with quality-of-life features like a save system, improved translation, and even a modern-style mode. The artwork on this collector’s box is chillingly gorgeous, and seeing that iconic panic-stricken face on the front is like a scream from the past—in the best way.
This one’s for fans of slow-burn horror, atmospheric storytelling, and historical preservation. WayForward really nailed the reverence for the original while giving new players a way in. Scissorman is back, and I’m ready to run.
⚡ Shockman Zero (Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero)
Includes: Limited Edition Cartridge
Publisher: Retro-Bit / Masaya Games / Limited Run
Platform: Super Nintendo (NA Cartridge)
Straight out of Japan and into your SNES, Shockman Zero is the fourth game in the Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman series—and it never originally released in North America. Until now.
This physical release includes a beautifully designed limited edition cartridge and box, which perfectly captures that classic '90s anime action vibe. It’s fast-paced, weird, and full of that unmistakable old-school energy. This release is a perfect companion for collectors and fans of obscure but charming side-scrolling action titles that never got the attention they deserved outside Japan.
Final Thoughts
Limited Run Games continues to knock it out of the park by preserving gaming history, and this delivery is a perfect example of why I keep coming back. Whether you’re into cult horror classics or obscure action imports, LRG is doing the essential work of keeping the past alive—physically, beautifully, and with care.
