Polymega Shipping September 12th

It’s almost time! The Polymega will make it’s trip to people’s homes on September 12th. What is the Polymega? Well, if you are familiar with the Retro 5 or Retro Freak then you’ll know what I’m talking about. This is an update to those consoles though, and what an update. This is the first console that will be able to play your Saturn games but that’s not all, it will also be able to rip them. How? It’s easy! The console will rip off the image file and store it in either the 32gb memory that comes built in, but it has expansion to add a SD card which you will have to do as the image files are pretty huge and 32gb won’t be enough. Overall, this is something great that’ll help you preserve your old games. You will only have to rip them off and then you can put them away in their case for preservation purposes. It’s really cool that they are doing this! The console also rips off Neo Geo CD, Sega Cd, and Turbo CD games. It will also read CDs from other regions. The Polymega will also come with an update that will download a database to your console in order to update it and recognize all your games. Of course, there will be updates going which is great. This will definitely be something to keep an eye for. I will eventually probably get one at some point in the future, funds aren’t my friend at the moment. Finds 1511: Super Punch Out and Sega IR7000 Calculator

I went to this event yesterday in which they had vendors selling stuff such as POPs or action figures and video games. It’s a really cool event and my friend has his booth. He had borrowed my Sega calculator because it wasn’t working and he was able to fix it. I was able to pick it up and check it out and it works flawlessly. I’m very blessed he was willing to fix it up for me. He said it wasn’t easy as there wasn’t much information online on it. You are the best! It’s great when old tech gets new life like this. Now, I need to find someone with another one of these calculators so we can text each other. See, that was the thing back in the mid 90s. This is how you would communicate in the classroom with your classmates. The era before texting alright! I also got from him a copy of Super Punch Out for the SNES. I didn’t had it boxed so I jumped at the chance to get it. He did give me a very good deal for it. Win win for everyone as this baby will stay in my collection till the end of days.

Finds 1510: Quickshot II -Joystick for Atari, Commodore, Computer Compatible.

I found this wonderful joystick at the thrift store and had to pick this up because of the awesome artwork on the box. The joystick looks brand new and it’s definitely in good condition. I will have to try it out on the Atari sometime and see how sturdy it is. I have to see what all of the Micro-Switch is all about.

Finds 1509: Atari Wireless Controllers and TMNT VHS

Here are a couple of items I got recently. One of them is a TMNT VHS which was fifty cents while the other one was free. Yes, that’s right! Free Atari wireless controllers, but that’s not all, they are also compatible with VIC-20 and Commodore 64. These things are beautiful and brand new. I do need two 9 Volt batteries to test them out. They’re really awesome.

Finds 1508: PC Galore! Software and even a Soundtrack

Here is a really nice lot of PC games. I went thrifting to this new thrift store and when they said the CDs are fifty cents each, I picked up whatever I could. Always have to get whatever you can when you find stuff at these good prices. Some of the notable ones are the Origin soundtrack which contains music from Ultimate and Wing Commander as well as Way Cool Compilation which I’ve never seen. Sim Tower and other interesting stuff is also on here. Love it!

Sega Saturday 001: Maximum Carnage (GEN)

Welcome to Sega Saturday where I talk a little bit about a Sega product from past or present. This means anything Sega goes! Lets start things off with Maximum Carnage for the Sega Genesis console. Not only is this cart beautifully red, it's actually really fun. You play as Spiderman in a beat 'em up style game. The story develops in a comic book style which is really cool. You feel like you are reading a comic book. I mostly played this one on the SNES, but the Genesis is really good too. Definitely check it out if you are looking for a challenging beat 'em up. Famicom Friday 001: Rockman 3 (FC)

Welcome to Famicom Friday! Here we have Rockman 3 for the Famicom. As you may have noticed, this is the bootleg version of the game. Why did I picked this one? Well, I couldn't find my original version which is okay right? I will be showcasing bootleg Famicom games from my collection so deal with it. Rockman 3 is the third game of the six part series of the Rockman series in Japan for the Famicom. This one is actually really long and comes with extra bosses from the previous game. If you are able to beat this one, you can definitely call yourself a mega player. I highly recommend the Rockman (Megaman) series if you never played it. The side scrolling is addicting. Welcome to DOS Thursday where I'll look at a DOS related item whether it's a game or gadget. Games that run on DOS in CDs also count! Books or manuals as well! Anyways, lets get started.
