So here is yet another edition of Retro Game of the Week. This week, we have a very memorable RPG. Final Fantasy 3(6) is ultimately the RPG to have in your SNES collection along with Chrono Trigger of course. This game was everything a Final Fantasy game should be and then some. I remember the fights gamers would have on forums debating if Final Fantasy 3(6) was better than the just released Final Fantasy 7. We are talking about 1997 of course. Believe it or not, people were hating on each other in such topics. Not only did we had the console wars but the Final Fantasy wars! There is not much more to say but look at the beauty and masterful performance of such a gem for the gaming world. A work of art indeed.
If there is anything older Final Fantasy games are known for is for their music. There is an infinite amount of memorable songs and this one is no different. There is the boss fight, battle music, and even the airship tune. Can you ask for anything more beautiful for your ears to listen to? I think not!!
The graphics are just stunning and beautiful. The SNES was taken to new depths with such an incredible masterpiece. Everything looks how it should and our heroes are very different from each other so you can't get them confused. The atmospheres and different dungeons look great. The monster art is also beautiful yet evilish at times.
You can't even put the controller down when playing this game. Not only is it filled with a long quest but it also has many side quests that will keep you gaming for hours on end. Don't forget to get all those monster skills. Learn all the spells and level up to 99! Now, that's hardcore gaming!
The replay value is quite good. This is a game you will fall in love with and want to play through again. The infinite random battles will make you want to find different ways to destroy your foes. You can go through the game with friends too as the game is two player.
So to conclude, this game is just another one to have in your collection. If you are an RPG fan, it should be a no brainer. You'll have lots of fun and fall in love with some characters. Enjoy!
