Finds 463: Christmas Gifts, Part 2

I got some of the sweetest thoughtful gifts ever from my girlfriend! First of all, I got this morphing mug! how does it work? Well first of all, you have to get Raphael out of there, then pour a hot drink in it like coffee or tea and see as the heart turns red. It will turn back to black as you keep drinking your beverage. Isn't that awesome? I love it!! As I mentioned before, she also gave me a Neca TMNT action figure. It's so kewl! I must have taken over 100 photos of it already and it's going to come in handy for future projects.

Finally, she got me this wicked poster that shows the history of the different controllers of various consoles. It's crazy the controllers and joysticks I never knew existed. It's also up to date as it even has a Wii-U controller. Really neat stuff, I love it!

Finds 463: Christmas Gifts, Part 1

I know is a little late but here are my Christmas gifts related to video gaming or vintage characters ^_^

First of all, we have the SNES Campus Challenge Reproduction. It is quite kewl but I'm afraid I'll have to leave it sealed as it's a collector's item! Next is the Mario statue that holds your 3DS...well I had a better idea to use it for which I will post about later. I also got a copy of Final Fantasy for the 3DS. It's the musical game with all the classic (Well some of them) songs from the various games. Finally, TMNT vintage boxers! They are radical alright! But that's not all....

I also got this Retro Handheld which plays SNES and NES games! The NES games can be played with this long adapter which makes it look odd but still kewl. The SNES games connect on top with no problem and play great! The handheld also comes with a rechargeable battery. A totally neat gift! Stay tune for part 2!

Game on! Fix it Felix Jr Arcade Cabinet!

I had my first experience at playing the Fix It Felix Arcade Cabinet! It was pretty awesome and just like the one from the movie!! The game can get quite challenging but it's very fun over all. There were a lot of people taking photos of the cabinet as it was only being shown for a limited time. Totally awesome retro madness!!!

Finds 462: Pokemon White 2 Secret Santa Gift!

It was quite nice to get a gift card to Gamestop but what should I get? There was no doubt that I wanted to go back into the Pokemon world and therefore I picked up Pokemon White 2 for the Nintendo DS! I picked White 2 mainly because I picked White 1 when it came out and it also helped narrow the decision because my girlfriend has Black 2. Wouldn't you agree? I haven't been able to train much but I shall create yet another insane team of Pokemon!

Retro-bit of the day 001: Super Mario Bros European Version

So what is retro-bit of the day? It's quite simple. Every day I will attempt to post a new item of retro gaming which could be either an accessory, game, or even action figures and believe me you will see a little bit of everything! Of course, that's not all! I will post whatever info I can find of it and if not then just my opinion on it.

With that little explanation out of the way, we have today's first item which is the European version of Super Mario Bros for the NES. The game release date was May 15, 1987. As you may realize, the game was released a little later than in the USA and Japan. I guess once the NES was a hit in the US, there was reason to spread the gaming goodness to other parts of the world. As you can see, my copy is quite beat up but I'm still in love with it as they are hard to come by. That's all for today! ^_^

Be sure to follow me on my Instagram page! ^_^

Retro Gaming News 166: Choro Q 2 English Translation Released!

"This patch translates the amazingly fun PSX game Choro Q 2, the second game made by Tamsoft, the creators of this now very long series by TAKARA. Choro Q 2 has 76 customizable cars, more than 30 completely different tracks, a big town to explore, great two-player modes, lots of extras, and, most importantly, excellent gameplay.
If you’re new to the series, start with Choro Q 3! While Q 2 is also great, it’s not even half as good as Q 3."
