This is one of the scariest games ever! Not only is it dark and dangerous but you die in so many different ways that it's not even funny. Talk about gory for a Nintendo game. The game is quite amazing. You only have a certain amount of time to beat the game too. Talk about pressure! I can honestly say that I beat this game from beginning to end. What an amazing experience it was. Lets take a look at this beauty.
The music is pretty non-existent but the sounds make up for it. They're quite real and you can feel the pain of the poor prince. There are times where a music score will play only to tell you that you have to hurry up or die! Quite ingenious for the time.
The game looks amazing. The SNES really took care of this game quite well. The game itself is a gem to look at and it's quite detailed. I'm not even sure how much better you can get for an early release of the SNES. The dungeons look scary and the enemies look serious about killing you~! Totally amazing overall.
The gameplay is not easy whatsoever. You'll be dying more times than you can count but you'll also be learning and finding alternative ways to get through each stage. In the end, you'll feel accomplished of how far you have gotten. The battles against your enemies are tough as well. Use the best of your strategies to defeat them. Remember, that retreating is also an answer.
The game is such a joy from beginning to end whether it's frustration or just plain fun to die in so many different ways. It's a game that you can always come back to and maybe find a different way to beat a level on your second or third or fourth run through it.
A must have for any gamer. This game took the genre of platforming to another level. It's just so good to play through and one you have to play if you missed it around the first time. Be sure to check out the sequel for the PC.
