Finds 485: Kirby's 20th Anniversary Dream Collection for Wii

This is a really kewl compilation of the history of Kirby so I had to have it. Not only that, but the collector's value of such beauty should be worth a pretty penny in years to come. As a collector, it's my duty to fish out certain items that I think will be worthwhile holding on to. It's a beauty, isn't it?

Retro-bit of the day 088: Klax (Genesis)

This is Klax for the Genesis! The game is quite odd but interesting nonetheless. I haven't played it much but decided to add it to the retro-bit of the day since it is retro and it's a bit :p If you have played it, be sure to let me know how it is!

Finds 484: Classic DOS Boxed Games! Space Quest, King's Quest!

Here are a lot of old DOS games with memorable characters. I'm sure all of you DOS gamers remember the King's Quest series as well as Space Quest. I'm more into the King's Quest as it's my type of game but was never introduced to Space Quest. It definitely looks just as interesting. Nevertheless, they are new additions which I will probably be using in my scenery for future projects.

Retro-bit of the day 087: Mega Man Xtreme (GBC)

This is one interesting game. It's a game that takes place in the X-saga but it's more like returning to previous X-levels. It's actually not bad at all. Be sure to check out the sequel.

Finds 483: Famicom and Odd-Ends

Here is a nice package from Japan that was delivered to me earlier today. It's always a nice feeling getting another Famicom into my collection. I enjoy the primitive look it has. There is just so much nostalgia and you just know this is one console that will never let you down. On the background are some PS1 and Saturn titles. I don't have much info about them but they are definitely all new additions to the never ending collection. Kudos!

Retro-bit of the day 086: Magical Quest 3 (SFC)

It's such a shame this game was never released in the USA as it would've kicked the other two out of the water! This is one amazing game. There are many more out there that will definitely get their mention on here. Stay tuned!

Finds 482 Expert Gamer Magazine Lot

Here is a lot of magazine I was able to snag from eBay for a very cheap price. I personally loved these magazines because they had strategies for many different games with full color maps and a lot of important information. I love this magazine but loved it even more when it used to be called EGM2. I will keep searching for these...

Retro-bit of the day 085: Nightmare Creatures 2 (PS1)

Here is an interesting game with music composed by Rob Zombie! Hmmm...interesting indeed. I do suggest you get to try it out. Zombies ftw!

Ads from the past 252: Joysticks Ad by Beshu

The company Beshu created some of the most interesting joysticks on the market. As you can see from the ad, some of these joysticks must require a deformed hand! It's kewl though, back in the day, we used to game like there was no tomorrow...

Retro Gaming News 187: Suikogaiden Vol. 1: Swordsman of Harmonia English Translation Released

"After nearly five years, the English translation of Suikogaiden Vol. 1: Swordsman of Harmonia is completed.
Suikogaiden Vol. 1 (as well as its sequel Vol. 2) is a PSX visual novel spin-off of the Suikoden series, taking place at the same approximate time as Suikoden II and featuring many of that game’s characters. Suikoden completionists, or anyone interested in the Suikoden world and characters, will find it worth playing.
The translation was completed by an appropriately broad cast of characters, led by rin_uzuki, at the Suikogaiden Translation Project. She got signficant assistance from Niahak and Raww Le Klueze on the translation side, and Rufas, David Holmes and Pokeytax on the coding side - but many others helped get this patch released."

Finds 481: Gungnir for PSP

Atlus released a lot of interesting RPGs for the PSP. My goal now is to try and find them all but it's going to be a tough task especially with Gamestop not carrying them anymore. I was able to find this one in their left over piles of games. It definitely looks interesting so I picked it up. So many more to find but I will find them!

Finds 480: Sega Saturn Lot! Sega Ages!

Here is a lot of Sega Saturn games I got from craigslist. They were about 2 dollars each and I definitely couldn't say no to them especially since Sega Saturn games are scarce around this area. The ace of this lot was definitely Sega Ages which is a compilation of three classic Sega games. What's interesting is that Working Designs was the publisher of the game. I might want to look up information on such matters to further educate my knowledge of video game history especially when it involves Working Designs.

Retro-bit of the day 084: Addams Family Values (SNES)

This is a very fun game. I remember going through the entire game and finishing it. The golden era of platformers was a very fulfilling one....we want more!!

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 083: Uniracers (SNES)

This is a simple game. You race race and race some more....that's about it. I mean, it's no Mario Kart but you can have fun with it for a little bit...of course be safe when driving just as my little friend on the pic says.

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 082: Marvel vs Capcom (PS1)

This is a fighting game that's definitely fun. Of course, you have to get used to the limitations of the PS1 and forget about having a partner to help you fight but nevertheless, this game is still worth a shot. Now, if you must have the real experience then go play the Dreamcast version! :p
Share:

Retro-bit of the day 081: TMNT Fall of the Footclan (GB)

This is one of the simpler TMNT games out there. The game is quite fun and definitely worth a run for its money. You can probably beat it in 20 minutes if you know how to get through the levels quickly enough. Check it out!

Finds 479: Too many games! And for free!

This is probably one of the biggest hauls for the cheapest price ever! How cheap you ask? Well free!! Yes, that's right! I got a whole box of games for nothing and boy was it packed with some interesting stuff. As you can see, there is just too much to mention so I threw them all in my bed and took a random photo of them. Some of the notable are Marvel vs Capcom(PS1), PS2 modded silver slim, Silver Gameboy SP, Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story(NDS), and a flashcard for the GBA. The flashcard was a real treat as I was able to upload Mother 3 for it and play it using my Gameboy player! Can't get any better than this! Thanks to Bob again for such an amazing gift! You rock!

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 080: Samurai Spirits (GB)

This is a very sweet game believe it or not. It's basically Samurai Showdown on the game boy. I know fighting games weren't supposed to be good for the old Game Boy but this one pulls it off in amazing fashion! Check it out!

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 079: Rockman and Forte (SNES)

This is the long forgotten release of the game for the SNES. Yes, when emulation was the craze back in 1997-1998, everyone was calling this game Mega Man 9. Of course, now we know that the game is just a spin off of the Mega Man series. It was definitely  a lot of fun to play this gem. Be sure to get a repro copy of it! You can't get any better than this!

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 078: Mario Bros (Atari 7800)

So when you thought Mario was only for the NES, you get to see this release. This is definitely worth a look as Mario did went to a forbidden land. Good thing he stayed in Nintendo and exclusively Nintendo. To this day, it would be impossible to see Mario in another console like PS3 or Xbox 360 well except by the use of an emulator.
Share:

Retro-bit of the day 077: Contra Hard Corps (Genesis)

This is one bad ass game! The Contra series was long forgotten after the 16-bit releases but they are sure memorable once you get back to them. I do prefer Contra 3 the Alien Wars over this one but this is still a top notch game! Be sure to check it out! The Genesis has a lot of hidden gems.
