The Retro-bit of the day series is taking shape into something new. As you can see, the series will showcase itself in comic form starting today. Lets see how things work out with this format but I think it'll do for the mean time. Today is the last day of January and we have a treat for you. The game is The Legend of Zelda for the Famicom Disk System! The game itself is legendary but the Turtles will need some help in order to finish this game. Call in Nintendo Power! The game was actually not released in cart form in Japan until the early 90s so a lot of people had to keep their Disk Systems in great shape in order to play such wonders and many of you know how lame the Disk System were in terms of durability. That damn belt must have made more than one Japanese gamer cried at some point. Enjoy and cya in February!

How a retro gamer starts his morning...
There is always something missing in my mornings as I head to campus. What is it? It's right there in the photo! A nice cup of Mocha Javalanche! It's amazing how addicted I have become to this drink. It's just what I need every morning before I head off to all my classes. There is no doubt that without this magical drink I would be in the gutter under some boxes gasping for air. The aroma of the coffee beans awakes most of my senses while waiting in line. Finally, when my drink is ready, I tend to take my time with it. That's when I took this shot of it next to my Nintendo bag. It's a little way of sharing my joy of gaming with my joy for a mocha drink. I could sure go for one of those right about now with its viscous texture and deliberating taste...I want one!! AHHH!!!
How do you retro gamers and gamers alike start your morning huh?
Finding Miis 015: Hittler is found alive!
I have gotten over 100 tags in the past four months but this one takes the cake. I usually don't post them anymore but I shall come back just to show you the crazy people just around campus. Does that Mii character look familiar? I think so! You can even see how my Mii character feels about it with his head down, not being able to make eye contact with the demon. Any suggestions if I get a second tag? We shall see if it happens!
Here is what the German goes by :p
Retro-bit of the day 030: Super Mario Bros 3 (FC)
Probably the best Mario game ever. Super Mario Bros 3 brought it hours and hours of endless fun. The game itself is a masterpiece from beginning to end and I will be shocked if you haven't tried it yet. This game is legendary, this game is something that other developers should've looked at an mimic successfully. Although you know how that went as many of them tried and failed. The game is in so many platforms that it just seems to be an universal gem. Every Nintendo console will probably have it in some way (Usually digital form) and it'll come back to you. The hat that I never wear comes off to you, Mario.
Retro-bit of the day 029: Yoshi's Cookie (FC)
If you love cookies then you will love this game especially if Yoshi is one of your favorite characters (not mine). Yoshi's Cookie for the Famicom is pretty much the same game for the NES. I can see why it was quite easier to bring to the USA instead of Earthbound....Nintendo, you lazy bastards! You should've gamble for it, you know you would've won no matter what...
Retro-bit of the day 028: Super Mario Bros 2 (NES) Hong Kong Edition
Here is today's bit! Super Mario Bros 2 for the NES, but not just any NES, this game is for the Hong Kong NES! The game is quite rare but really good to look at. The Hong Kong release followed the American release unlike in Japan which got the Lost Levels. Anyways, I took a minute to create a collage so you can check out the cart and back cover! It's Mario alright! ^_^
The fun times we all had with this gem in the States

Retro Gaming News 178: MegaMan 2 Wily Strikes Back
this has been a little mini project i have been working on for about 3 months, with many failures before creating it the way i wanted it to be. the hack is complete,so click the RHDN link and check it out."
Retro-bit of the day 027: Wizardry (FC)
The game Wizardry is your complex RPG. This is the first one in a series of three I believe and it's tough to get into. In these types of RPGs, you'll be ripping your hair off just to get through the first part of the game. The thing about these classic RPGs is that starting off is usually the toughest part of the game but don't get me wrong, there is a lot more painfulness coming your way. I do recommend it although you might want to pick up a translated version since this is in Japanese.
Retro-bit of the day 026: Snow Brothers (FC)
I decided to change the scenery for just a day and show off today's pick in the wild! Of course, Snow Brothers is accompanied by a couple of powerful guards from the TMNT series. The game Snow Brothers is actually very fun with two players. The game itself is rare for the NES although the Famicom version is a little pricey as well but not as much as the NES version. You'll have fun times with this one.

Finds 467: Final Fantasy 2 and Adventure Island 4 for the NES
Here are a couple of gems that arrived in the mail. They are Final Fantasy 2 and Adventure Island 4 for the NES. As you may already know, these are NES repros and are pretty good ones! I have to say these are just amazing additions to my collection. Thanks to this amazing repro maker for the NES gems. I'm definitely going to play through each of them when the time provides the chance.

Retro-bit of the day 025: Turbo Racing (NES)
Another day, another bit of the day. This time around we have Turbo Racing for the NES. My copy is actually sealed so it has never sucked in a piece of oxygen. I will be honest with you, this game is not that great. It should probably be ignored as it tries to be pretentious and falls short just like many racing games for the 8-bit wonder box. Not much more to say, beware!

Retro Gaming News 177: Pokémon Red - Proud Eyes edition V4.0
I have made a few adjustments to the game play, but the majority of the changes come with the use of Danny-E 33’s Pokémon Red - Gen. II Graphics Patch Version 1.1."
Retro Gaming News 176: Pokemon games you can 100% by yourself?!?
Well, welcome to the modern age, where we all have adult jobs and adult lives. But, we still play Pokemon because Pokemon is awesome. It becomes increasingly hard to trade for what you want, especially for the old outdated games. You need both games of a given generation and two GameBoys (of the proper generation) AND two game files! NO ONE WANTS TO DO THAT, so your forced to cheat. Cheating is dangerous to your file as it can corrupt it.
I thought I would fix that problem with this small hack. I made a hack for both the Red Version and Gold Versions. You can now catch ‘em all, all by yourself. There is no need to ever trade.
I did not have the skills to change the title screens, so I could not rename them cool names like Violet Version or Mokume Version (violet is a mix between red and blue, mokume-gane is a mix of gold and silver) Maybe one day I will get the skills and release an update for you, but for now these are fully playable games that you can complete by yourself.
Enjoy ‘em and… Gotta Catch ‘em All!"
Retro-bit of the day 024: Unknown Hentai Poker Pirate Game (FC)
It's naughty time! This is a very odd game I picked up about two years ago. As you can see, it's naughty indeed. The game is for the Famicom(I hope you figured it out by now) And it's just like any other poker game except the girls get naked as you get richer. The game reminds me of Soap Panic which was a Panesian porno masterpiece! Ahh gotta love 8-bit porn!
This is a pic from Hot Slots! Doesn't it turn you on? I bet it does! Look at that big butt! har har har! You perverts!

Retro-bit of the day 023: Street Fighter 2 (FC)
Eventually I will be showcasing all the obscure pirates I withhold in my collection. In the mean time, be happy for the games (Mostly original) That I will be showing throughout the year. Anyways, this time around we have the game Street Fighter 2 for the Famicom/NES. If you haven't heard of this obscurity, well then you are probably not much into retro games. Back in the day, a company called Yoko decided to port Street Fighter games for the NES. Now, Street Fighter 2 was the biggest hit since Super Mario Bros hence all the remakes and updates they released throughout the years. The game is as crappy as you can imagine but lots of fun if you can abuse the physics of the game which is wacky overall. A neat title to have in your collection though. Who can say they have Street Fighter 2 for the Famicom? I sure can :p
Retro-bit of the day 022: Landstalker (Genesis)
A very wicked game makes the list and it's actually from the Sega Genesis. There were a bunch of obscurities for the console as it didn't got much love for their RPGs. Nevertheless, this one will not get away from me. It may not be a masterpiece but it's very well worth a try especially for traditional RPG aficionados.

Retro Gaming News 175: Street Fighter vs Mega Man ver 2 is out!
An update has been released for this game that should really be ported to something other than a PC. Capcom needs to get his head of his ass and port this once it's perfect! Maybe more updates in the future? As for now, I'll just have to deal with the PC version using my PS1 controller to get a nice console feel to it. Here are the update notes:
-Confirmation prompt before exiting (ESC) or resetting (F12) the game
-E Tank glitch and various other bugs fixed
-Improved controller support (Game defaults to keyboard on launch; make sure controller is plugged in prior to opening the file, then go into Options menu and set keys)
-Take screenshots using F9
-M Bison buffed a bit (This place shall become your grave!)
-A new challenger! (Find him yourself!)
And of course, huge thanks and credit to Zong Hui and A_Rival for this updated version!"
