We continue our piracy research with this little gem right here, Pocket Monster. The game is for the SNES/SFC and was developed by DVS Electronic although one can only wonder who really made this game especially when you talk about pirate games. Nevertheless, the game is your average platformer with bad controls that require you to be very precise in your jumps. The game has mediocre music and the enemies aren't Pokemon at all except for some badly colored Porygons but that's about it. I'm guessing Pikachu is on a quest to extinct rejected Pokemon! You can do it you little yellow devil!
The game is quite common in South America and Taiwan where pirates are abundant. You should pick it up if you are ever down there as they are mighty cheap. Going back to the game, it's just very bothersome that there was so much you could do with it even though it had all it flaws but changing just the music could have given some points to this pirate. Sadly, the creators and developers of this game lack in taste and originality. Now, I know it's awful for me to say that but if you are going to do something might as well do it right. That's just how I feel about it! Furthermore, I can say that this game did not gave me any boner whatsoever and that's how I know when I like a game.
To conclude, there is not much to say about this game. You should just play the rom and not bother with it but if you are a true Pokemon fanatic and want everything to do with Pokemon good or bad then I say go ahead and spend the cash for this. The game doesn't come very often but if you have some connections down south then I suggest you tell them about it! Till next week!
