This is a nice little sequel to the Mappy game. The game turns into a side scroller adventure style game and it does a decent job at it. The original is still everyone's favorite though.

I played this game for the SNES and loved it. It's definitely a Super Mario Kart clone but it's just as fun as Mario Kart. A very underrated game indeed.

Retro Gaming News: Ninja Rahoi Translation Released!
"Today we are releasing a complete translation patch for the wacky Japanese RPG, Ninja Rahoi.
The translation was started by aishsha sometime in 2009 and he did most of the translation and hacking. Pennywise did all the final hacks and final draft of the script. We also had the help of several excellent translators who helped with us puns, obscure text and whatever else craziness the game threw at us. Those people are Ryusui, Eien ni Hen and harmony7. Without them, this translation would not be what it is now.
This is also more than a translation. It is also a localization. The game featured a plethora of jokes and puns based on Japanese history and pop culture of the time. Just doing a literal translation would have stripped the game of its humor. So the decision was made to replace all the jokes with Western equivalents while retaining the spirit of the original. This translation is a lot of fun to play just for the text, but also a lot of work went into it. The game does take place in Japan and no attempt has been made to remove that aspect. It is and will always be a wacky Japanese game.
Speaking of the game, it was made by the same folks who did Momotarou Densetsu, which was translated by KingMike a few years ago. Without having the played the game, there are probably similarities between the two. So if you liked that game, you’ll probably like this one.
The game might be a DQ clone, but it is anything but generic. There are plenty of hilarious joke enemies and there is a Ninjutsu system that levels up through use in battle. The game does feature your old school grinding though.
Lastly, the game does not use the traditional SRAM for battery backed saving. Instead it uses an external add-on for the Famicom called the Turbo File. It was made by ASCII, the same company who published this game. So if you’re playing on a flashcart, you won’t be able to save unless you have Famicom and a Turbo File. We did not feel like hacking traditional SRAM into the game, but if someone would like to do that for us, we would graciously accept it. Otherwise, use your favorite emulator."
Game-bit of the day 176: Gold Nintendo 64 Controller
This is a thing of beauty! The Golden Nintendo 64 controller is so satisfying to have mainly because it's one of the harder to find controllers out there.

Are you ready for another crapfest? Pokemon Green for the Famicom went a little too far. I mean, you didn't had to paint the poor Cleafary green for crying out loud! As a matter of fact, that Cleafary looks stuffed so it must be dead and painted. Pokemon Green is a sorry excuse of a hack to try to reel in money for lazy bootlegers.... ugh! Lets take a look!
The music is fine and all but it's nothing Pokemon like. The thing is that this game is a simple hack of a Kero Kero game from the Hello Kitty franchise. Very lazy by the bootlegers...
The lazy bastards only decided to changed the frog into a green Cleafary which makes a lot of sense as to why the Cleafary is green. They couldn't even bother to change the palette to turn it pink. Bootlegs like these really grinds my gears...
The gameplay is decent and I will definitely not take any points out because it's a sorry ass hack. The game is actually decent but that's because it's a fun side scroller game.
There isn't much to replay unless you like playing a weak hack of a Kero Kero game. If you like seeing Cleafary in green, if that's how kinky you are then yeah go play this game.
Not worth your time! I don't think there are many words to describe this! STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!! You'll turn green like a turd!

Retro Game of the Week 139: Joe & Mac (SNES)

This is one of the early gems the SNES offered that set up a foundation for other games to be released and flourished the console with even more gems. Joe & Mac is what everyone could ask for in a Caveman game. There is not only a very fun adventure and great music along with amazing gameplay, but you can do it with a friend. Two player mode is what makes this game something else. Lets take a look.
The music sets this game and gives it a very upbeat feel. The sounds are quirky and funny. The game itself is a joy to listen to, as a matter of fact, it should be illegal to have this game on mute.
Graphic-wise this game looks amazing. For an early SNES game, it was quite detailed. The SNES started to show us what it can do very early in its life and this game was just the beginning.
With a two player mode, you'll have a lot of fun playing together. Be sure to use teamwork. One player mode is also fun but you can definitely have more fun if you play it with a friend, just don't fight over silly stuff.
This game is short and fun. It keeps you going all the way to the end and does present you with many challenges that you might not be able to get through in your first run. In other words, it does have a great replay value factor. I'm impressed.
For a game that's not really that rare, it's totally worth picking up. This is as much fun and easy going game you'll find. The SNES sure got game!
