Finds 184: Marvel vs Capcom(DC) among other titles!

Here are some new arrivals for today:

Paid 2 dollars for this one.
Also 2 bucks....
2 dollars as well...

Again, two dollars....

A lot of neat resale stuff, the dreamcast games were declared non working but I was able to get Marvel vs Capcom running after cleaning it with a scratch remover tool. House of the Dead 2 is being stubborn though. That's all for now...

Finds 183: Silver Slim PS2 and games! FF7!

Here we have a craiglist find yay. I got this PS2 Slim for 50 bucks plus all these games. The ace of the lot was FF7 which is already up for sale! Check out the photos!
The console came with the box, manuals, internet disc, controllers and cables.
Even though it was a PS2, the lot only came with two PS2 games while the rest were PS1 titles.

Here is FF7 with all three discs, sadly all these games are disc only.
More discs including GTA, Gran Turismo 2, and Gundam Battle Assault 2.
More games!

So that's all for now, the PS2 looks incredibly sexy! Having it boxed is a big plus as well. Until next time!

Package Coming in a Month!

Well seems like I will have to wait a month for some awesome pirates that are coming my way. I was hoping one of them would compete with Valkyrie Profile for the Find of the Month honors but it looks like it will be for next month. I won't tell you the titles to keep things interesting har har har.... I guess I have to be patient.

Finds 182: King of Fighters Collection and then some!

Here are the new acquisitions to my collection and probably some for resale.

First up is a loose copy of Donkey Kong 64 for 1.95, already have this one so it's a resale.

Here we have a copy of Double Dragon for the Gameboy(yeah the one with no label) that I paid 1.95 for and also a black VMU for the Dreamcast that I got for free...yay for free stuff!

Here is a game I picked up at Gamestop for 13.89 with the discount if I remember right. It's another Atlus title that I wanted to pick up. I'm currently collecting these Atlus releases. Gotta love Atlus!
Here is King of Fighters Collection for the PS2. I got this one at Gamestop as well and paid 8.09 for it. Not bad at all but it didn't come with a manual.

That's all for now, there is a lot more stuff to come in the coming weeks. It's time to get back on track!

Finds 181: Pokemon Gameboy Madness!

An ad on craiglist led me to this purchase. It's always interesting to meet people through these deals, you just never know what kind of people you are going to meet. I already made deals through craiglist so I am pretty used to it. The seller was kinda of weird but then again who is normal nowadays. Anyways, I spent 25 dollars for this pokeymon goodness!

Pokemon handheld carrying case as well as the Gameboy Color and box!
Pokemon Trading Card Game with all inserts I believe...
Here is Pokemon Silver! Yay!

It's always great when Craiglist deals fall through....

Finds 180: Gamestop Purchases Ys + DBZ

Hello again, more purchases coming from yours truly once more. Due to people calling me a liar on forums, I decided to take more detailed photos of my findings. You will see the difference in the coming finds postings. This time around I bought a couple of games at the Gamestop in the mall. Ys for the PS2 for 9.99 and DBZ Legacy of Goku for the GBA for 3.99. It was neat to get a boxed GBA game and the 10 percent discount made the deal even sweeter.
That's all for now!

Retro Game of the Week 036: Crash Bandicoot (PS1)

To finish up the catching up with retro game of the week sessions, I decided to pick this great game indeed. I know I haven't written about a lot of exciting titles lately(Doom 32x, Wrecking Crew) but it's about to get good! Crash Bandicoot was sought out to be the mascot of Sony just like Mario was the mascot of Nintendo. It worked for a while, until the games went down hill. The best part is that you don't have to hear about the crappy Crash games, I'll talk about the good ones here yay! Crash Bandicoot is what a platformer can be if done correctly. This game involves Crash who is trying to defeat this scientist yada yada yada doesn't matter, it's the gameplay that counts most of the time, then again some games need to give you a reason to keep playing them, err RPGs anyone?

Crash Bandicoot gameplay is very simple. There is the jump button and the spinning attack button and well I think that's pretty much it. Of course you move with your D-pad! From my experience, this game is a lot of fun and also full of secrets. This was a big hit for Sony back in the day and good thing it was, the game and franchise helped them get an image to compete against Sega and Nintendo. Too bad it was fucked up years later on the PS2.....but lets not change the subject again, Crash 1 for the PS1 is full of nostalgia. The game is what you will expect from a platformer, it has interesting levels, secrets, and crazy bosses. There are things here and there that you might not find appealing but good thing there is a sequel.

So that should be it for now, the game contains high marks on music, control, graphics, and gameplay. You can't loose with this one! Pick it up as it's mad cheap on ebay. Look for it at your local flea markets and thrift stores as well. Until next time!

Retro game of the Week 035: Wrecking Crew(NES)

Another title for the books! Wrecking Crew is a simple game that keeps repeating and repeating over and over. The game consists of Merio which is trying to destroy buildings and such. There is this dude called Werio that won't let him do it, in fact he is trying to hammer his ass to prevent him from wrecking everything(must be an environmentalist). Your main objective as Merio is to well wreck everything but along the way you have to deal with Werio and some fish with legs that try to kick your ass. The worst part of this game is that you can't jump! I guess the hammer must be too heavy for Merio to jump with.
The game is fun at some parts especially when you take in play the domino factor. If you hit the right object, you will make everything along the way blow up! Isn't that what wrecking as all about? Either way you put it, the game gets a little frustrating later on, but it's ok, you can try as many times as you want in order to conquer your wrecking urges. This game was part of the "black box" NES releases which means it's pretty generic, so don't expect much from it.
One of the reasons I picked this title as a retro game of the week is because this game shows that it doesn't have to be great to have a little fun. With the flaws it may have, and the difficulty it may provide, you can still have a great time with it. Just don't let Werio hit you with the hammer or the wieners will get you. Until next time!

Retro Game of the Week 034: Doom (32X)

I will give it a shot and say it anyways, Doom for the 32x is the pick for this week. In fact, I have to write up another session of this series in order to make up for the one I missed last week. Well there is no better way to put it then to say AWESOME! This is what Doom has been and what Doom will always be, no matter what! This game got me hooked to FPS back in the early PC games, which made me addicted as hell! Having Doom on the 32x is really kewl for the day it was released that is(You can get the game online so easily now and play it with good old DOSBOX on your fancy super duper fast PCs and laptops). Anyways, this version of Doom is like any other version of Doom...except a little chopped up and with a bad soundtrack.

This version of Doom suffers from having less levels than the other versions. This is a big mistake and somehow I don't understand why it would be ripped apart. Did they got lazy? was there something wrong with the port? The SNES version of DOOM is amazing but somehow Sega and the producers of the game fucked up the port that was coming out for an add-on that was supposed to be superior.....

In the end, I say it once more, it's Doom. You will get your classic addicting gameplay with malevolent monsters and freaks to take you back to hell....then again...aren't you in hell already? Until next time!

Finds 179: Valkyrie Profile and an extra cube!

Today was a very interesting day indeed. First of all, I went with a friend to show her how I find my stuff har har har. She looked interested and amazed by the stuff you find at thrift stores so I hope she starts to get into it. Anyways, I found myself a couple of neat finds. A little info under their respective photos!!
First and best of all I found this copy of Valkyrie Profile complete for the PS1 for 1.95! I'm adding this one for my RPG collection. The discs are so minty it looks like it was never played with!
I also found a copy of Shadow Warrior for the PC. This one was 95 cents.

I got this Gamecube for 7.95 as well. I didn't realized it came with the gameboy player under it until I got home....har har har...

This game also came inside the cube as a bonus. It's some nicktoons game.

Well that's all for now, I had a great day of finds over all. I can't wait to try out Valkyrie Profile, now I need to buy the second one for PS2 which I can get for cheap at the local Gamestop. Until next time!

Finds 178: PS2 arrivals! Atlus, I love you!

Well visited the local gamestop and decided to pick up some major PS2 titles. As you can see, they are all complete in box and waiting for me to play. I think the one I will be hooked on the most is the Capcom Collection vol 2 which has 20 classic games inside! Can't ask anything better than that. I also got Arcana Heart which a friend recommended for my collection since I like all the cute anime stuff. Enjoy the pics!

Lots of sexy titles, by now you should know I am very gay for Atlus! THEY ROCK!!

Finds 176: Some NES Additions hmm finally!

Well it has been a while since I had any finds at all and with no car, it makes things a little more difficult but there is no way I am going to let that stop me. So finally, after taking two buses and walking some miles, I was able to find some good stuff. A lot of NES additions this time around including the Metroid game, and Trog among others. Of course, I will sell the duplicates or the ones I don't want at the shoppe. I also found a couple of Mangas for 1.95 for both. It was an alright comeback for finds, but there is something amazing waiting for me tomorrow and if I am successful I'll have it all to show off right here! Enough talk, here are some photos!

Two Metroids in one trip, yes it's possible!
Kewl games everywhere you look!

I didn't even knew there was a MS Pacman for the N64! I also picked up Sonic Advance 2 and Wario Land 4, two games I have been searching for. There was a guy that got to them before me and he picked up some games but good thing he didn't got these!

I also picked up these two mangas! I like to read them once in a while for the hell of it. It will also help me draw better when I get to it again.

So that's all for now, there is much more to find and I am glad I am getting back on track. Let the collecting resume!

Retro Game of the Week 033: The Castlevania Adventure(Gameboy)

So we are back with another Retro Game of the Week session. This time around I will discuss Castlevania for the Gameboy. This title is quite old but interesting overall. The game does show age as soon as you play it, I mean it moves slower than other Castlevania games but that's mainly because of the limited capabilities of the handheld. The game is tough at times but not impossible to beat. You can expect classic castlevania action in this one as it's similar to the NES counterparts.

Be ready to get used to slow gameplay though. Also, be careful with letting your vampire hunter fall because he will fall like a brick. The usual monsters are in this one, bats, big eyes, and more bats. I recommend this for anyone who wants something similar to the NES and needs a blast from the past. For others, I don't because it could disappoint you more than make you enjoy it. Luckily, it's a very affordable title so don't you worry, your pockets will still be filled with monah. That's all for now, until next time!
One last tip, don't get hit as you will lose your strong whip and that really wears you down and defeats you more quickly in the end. Good luck!

Super Mario Bros 3 Japanese Guide!

Hello it's me Famicom Freak ready to work on things once again. This time around we have the Super Mario Bros 3 guide in Japanese! I picked up this item a couple of years ago and just got around to checking out its awesomeness. The guide if I understood is pretty interesting, from what I understand, it contains full color pages guide to help you beat the game.

Here is a photo of the cover which says a lot of interesting stuff all over yay!

Here is a page of the guide which shows you secrets among other things. I'm sure you can just look at the photos and find a way around your quest to saving the princess.

Careful with this level it's an underground stage!! AHHH!!!

It's always great to have some tips in the later stages.
That bowser bastard must go down. Take him down and do the hot princess!! OHHH YEAHH BABBYYY

Well I hope you guys enjoyed some shots of this amazing little guide. Maybe one day when I learn Japanese I will be able to read some of it. Take care now, bye bye then.....
