So these are news that I'm just getting around to. Rayman apparently was supposed to come out for the SNES, but was cancelled in the process. The creator of the game Michael Ancel was the one that discovered this game which was out of the radar for 24 years. The game apparently was cancelled by Ubisoft because they wanted to use the CD-technology which was all the hype back then and since the SNES-CDrom add-on never happened, there went Rayman.
Michael is trying to pitch the game so that Ubisoft might be able to release it for the Nintendo Switch which would actually be a good idea since the franchise is still quite popular to this day. One will have to keep an eye on this one and see if anything flourishes from it. We can always just get a repro of it if it ever gets dumped into rom. That's better than nothing!
