Retro Gaming News 196: Zelda3 HP hack

"Description:
These patches were designed to help rookies who have problems with Zelda3 and would like to start it with HP upgrades. There are 5 parameters: start with 10 heart containers, start with 20 heart containers, start with Armor-3, fire sword, new “super” sword. There are 11 variants of above, but it is also possible to combine singular paramenters manually, by multi applying more (non-conflicting) IPS patches to one ROM.
It is also possible to apply these HP upgrades to any Zelda3 hack (as long as the file has no header! and is in a lorom format). Since the most difficult Z3 hack up to date is Parallel Worlds, it must be noted, that this hack has a header by default, so it must be opened with Tush program (included) to remove the header before patching. However Parallel Remodel and Goddess of Wisdom have no header by default.
More heart containers HP hack was essentially designed for PW and PR, while the armor and sword upgrades for GoW (because of complaints on armor and sword being to weak in this game).
Note: if you exceed the heart-container maximum, it will go to NOP (no operation), the same with Armor or sword (if you have Armor3, opening a chest with Armor2 does nothing).
Because of these HP upgrades all Zelda3 games are now available for rookies and beginners.

Finds 596: Shareware Blake Stone and Wolfenstein 3D

This is just awesome! I have never seen this sexy artwork before so I just had to get it. Apparently, it's a 2 games in 1 pack of two awesome games. I mainly bought it for the artwork. Love this kind of art from the early 90s and obviously 80s.

Finds 591: Lot of Famicom Goodies

So here is a lot of awesome Famicom Goodness. There are a lot of awesome titles in this lot including Fire Emblem, Armadillo, and Don Doko Don! I was also able to get more Kunio games out of way. I'm only missing the Basketball one! That's the toughest one indeed!

Randomness from the past week!

This is me holding my first ever console! It's none other than then NES. I had so many adventures with this amazing console. It still works to this day but it barely runs the games. I decided to retire it over five years ago. The console itself has stickers and a list of my favorite NES games during that time all over it. Memories will forever be stamped on this wonderful peripheral.

I also fixed one of my PS3 constrollers. The analog stick was broken so it was pretty simple. Closing the controller was a bit of a hassle but oh well. It's done!

Here is a very familiar face from the Ducktales game! It's Scrudge Mc Duck! He is sure greedy! I'm loving the remastered version that was recently released. It's radical indeed!
My mom gave me this box which looked sad so I decided to give it a retro touch! I added some of my favorite video game characters on it. Of course, there are more but that's what the sides of the box are for! Don't you agree of its awesomeness?
Thank you for checking out my post of my randomness of the past week! I will definitely be putting these together more often ^_^ Till next time gamers!

Retro-bit of the day 241: Shin Megami Tensei 2 (FC)

Here is the second of the Shin Megami Tensei series. It's a very traditional RPG for the Famicom. It's definitely one that shouldn't be ignored. If you love demons, then give this one a shot!

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 240: Armadillo (FC)

So here we are! I have been looking for this game for a while. It's definitely one of the best ones on the console. I still can't believe I got it for pretty much nothing! You have to play it!

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 239: Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (GBA)

This is one of the kewlest RPGs for the GBA. It's definitely an awesome game and the first one of the different Mario & Luigi games! You must play this beauty!

Retro-bit of the day 238: Boogerman (Genesis)

This is a fun platformer. I can't believe there was no sequel. There were some Famicom ports by Russian pirates though. They suck! I would stick with this version or the one for the SNES.

Retro-bit of the day 237: Don Doko Don (FC)

This is an awesome game Bubble Bobble style. You're this old geezer with a hammer and you have to hammer everything on your way! You can gain power ups and what not. It's a beautiful game indeed and has really jumped to the top 20 on my list of favorite Famicom games.

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 236: Aretha (SFC)

Here is another wicked game. I'm really digging the Super Famicom games. There are so many I have never even heard of. A whole new world has opened to me and Aretha is part of the start of it.

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 235: Dream Master (FC)

Let us remember this awesome game that never made it here. So many gems forgotten.....it's such a fucking shame!

Share:

Retro-bit of the day 234: Kunio Soccer (FC)

The Kunio games are some of my favorites which is why I decided to start collecting them. This game is awesome because you can't get a red card or any card whatsoever for beating up your rivals! Gotta love it!

Retro-bit of the day 233: Dragon Quest 4 (FC)

Here is a neat game that was just recently brought to the USA in DS form. Dragon Quest 4 is one of the most awesome Dragon Quest games ever. It was also released on the Famicom/NES for some 8-bit nostalgia playability.

Retro-bit of the day 232: Tamagotchi (GB)

This is a little gem that made everyone go nuts. The handheld version had to be released! It's just as fun as the handhelds on their own. You have to have this!

Manual Monday 010: Double Dragon 2 (FC)

Here is a neat manual from a neat game. Double Dragon 2 for the Famicom is actually tougher than the NES version so if you thought the NES version was way too easy, then be sure to challenge the Famicom version. You'll definitely get a challenge ahead of you!

CIB Sunday 009: Shin Megami Tensei IF (SFC)

For CIB Sunday, I decided to show off this awesome JRPG. It's from the Shin Megami Tensei series. So many games have been released over the year! I still have so much to discover form these series and will definitely collect all the games in it. I guarantee it! Atlus FTW!

Sega Saturday 009: Chuck Rock 2 (Genesis)

Here is what we have in store for Sega Saturday. It's one of the more interesting Side-Scrollers of the early 90s. Chuck Rock 2 -Son of Chuck- Takes the caveman adventure genre into an interesting mix. You can think of this game as a mix of Joe & Mac and Bonk. The mix is good but as good as either game. It's still a good game to check out! GAME ON!
