Retro Game of the Week 002: Captain Tsubasa 3(SNES)

Man it has been months since I mentioned a new retro game of the week but I'll have to continue from now on. This time around I will suggest any of you to pick up a copy of Captain Tsubasa 3 for the Super Famicom. This game is unique in many ways. The most unique way this game separates from any other game is because it has a Soccer/RPG genre glued to it. How can this work together you say? Well the geniuses at Tecmo did it with high success.

Many people who have played the whole saga throughout the years will tell you that this is the one everyone must have in their collection. The game plays very simple as you receive the ball and then use the d-pad to move around the soccer field. The bottom of the screen has a radar look since it shows where you and your team mates are as well as the other team. Once you approach a member of the other team you will encounter him and will have to make a decision on what you want to do. In some cases, you can try and dribble the ball past by him although this will depend on how good the player holding the ball is. You can also pass it to another team member among other things.

Overall, there is a lot of interesting aspects to this game including a player vs player mode where you can go against a friend with the games' all stars. I highly recommend this game as well because of the fantastic soundtrack it holds. If you are still unsure you want to pick this game up, I suggest you try the rom via-emulator and see for yourself if this game is worth the money.

Did you know? This game has been hacked into various versions including one that was translated to Spanish? One day I'll find a copy to show the world!

Well here is a pretty unique find. I won this game on ebay for .99 cents because I saw it was a pirate har har....anyways I tried it out and it turned out to be in Chinese. That's all I know about the game so far. It's also a game for the regular gameboy not color. Anyways, here is a photo of it so let me know if you have any info on it.

Computer Fix WIP

So here is what I've done so far with the desktop:
-Added a new hard drive (20 gb)
-Added a new DVD drive (16 x dvdrw)
-Fresh copy of Windows 98se(For some reason the manual of the desktop mentions that it's not compatible with Windows 2000 and I can't figure out why)

So far that's what I have added and there are some things left to be done:
-Install sound drivers
-Install Ethernet card
-Install programs including anti-virus
-Install second hard drive(30 gb)

There are still many things to add but I'll get to them eventually. It's still odd that this machine doesn't support Windows 2000.....really weird...

I also took this photo when I first started fixing it up.

Some finds I forgot to mention

I was checking out my finds lately and I have a couple of things I forgot to post about. I'll surely make a post about them later today since there is some neat stuff in there. That's about it, back to my computer research har har
Share:

Fixing a PC

Well I finally got that old desktop running with the correct video drivers but I'm still having problems with the sound drivers. Any advice or sites that will help me find the right drivers would be nice. If not, in the future I'll purchase a cheap sound card and try it out. I also can't seem to find the right drivers for the ethernet card that came with it. Other than that, the desktop is running flawless. I'm currently trying to add a second hard drive but it looks like I'm going to need some jumper help to figure out how the desktop will recognize the second hard drive. I'm also switching the cd drives and adding two of them. Setting these to their master/slave modes is a lot easier. That's about it for now until next time...

Some Updates

Well I have recently changed hobbies for the time being until I get back on my feet har har har....I've been trying to fix up this old desktop I had for almost a year. It was just there in my closet and I finally got tired of looking at it so I started working on it. The desktop itself was a mess...I had to change the hard drive and disk drives but I got it up and working with a clean copy of windows 98se since it doesn't support 2000 for some reason and I don't want to waste my only legit copy of XP I have so 98SE will have to do. Installing and finding the drivers has been the most challenging stuff since the computer I have is from the year 2000 if I'm correct. Well I was able to knock down the graphics card driver which makes the desktop look so much prettier as well as some mother board drivers. The one I'm having some big trouble with is the sound driver but I'll try my best to fix it up if not just get a cheapo sound card for the sound. One last thing I want to do is add another cd drive to the computer as well as a second hard drive I have laying around. What am I going to use this desktop for? Probably nothing but more importantly, it'll be a back up PC just in case my super powerful desktop dies on me. Then again, I have my laptop but overall I think this is a real fun project I'm working on. I will show you photos of the desktop and the wip(work in progress) it's currently on. Until then, cya later!

Finds 088: Final Finds for a while

Well I will have to slow down on finds due to the fact that my car was towed and now I'm pretty much out of money. These will probably be the last finds of this month and most of next. I'm still awaiting the Street Fighter for the 3DO but it probably won't arrive until next week. Anyways, I got these at gamestop in their buy 2 get 1 free. Picked up three RPGs I wanted for a while. Cya later!

3DO games are hard to come by....

Man so I stopped at the local Play n Trade because I saw they had some 3DO games last time but to my bad luck, someone cleaned them out already. Oh well guess I was too late for that. I was also looking at ebay and the good games are hard to come by. I'll just have to keep an eye out for them. I know I'll eventually find some. Oh yeah one last thing, I finally made a new video and it's none other than Pokemon Stadium for the SNES!! Check it out at my Youtube page on the links section to the right! har har har!

Finds 085: 3DO Console and more games!

Well today was a very bad day to go hunting because of the weather but nevertheless, I still went out and came out with some neat finds. The ace of this hunt was probably the 3DO which wasn't reading the discs when I got it but then I had to open it up and clean it from the inside to help it make work. It turned out that it had lots of dust inside and the lenses were dirty. After a little tweaking, the console was working 100 percent so it was worth the 20 bucks! WOOOTTT! Any recommendations to 3DO games?

Testing the 3DO out with cover off.

WOOOTTT it works! it's alive!!! har har har

So here is the 3DO put back together. Looks better like that.

Got these guides for a dollar.

paid two dollars for each of these.

Paid 5 bucks for Super C!

Got this one for 5 bucks too.

Got these n64 games for 2 dollars each.

Got this SNES controller for 2 bucks.

So finally I went to play n trade and got these games for four bucks each.

Finally working on some new videos!

So I have finally decided to start making new videos including one of me playing the Pokemon Stadium for the SNES. It should interest some of you I think. Anyways, I'll also be doing some more Famicom videos continuing where I left off. I also got my laptop to max ram so the videos should come out a lot better. If you checked some of my earlier videos, the sound was a little slow and the games would slow down during recording....that sucked!

Finds 082: Killer Finds! Sega Genesis/Sega CD/32x combos!

Wow what a great day at the thrift store! I ended up buying a bunch of games at cheap prices but most of all a genesis that looked like it only had a sega cd in it but with a mountain of cables on top of it, it looked like it had more and it did. I ended up putting together a Sega genesis with sega cd add on and 32x add on! I never had a 32x so I'm pretty excited! I'm also glad I only paid 12 dollars for it. Here is a photo of the Genesis before I broke off all the tape and bags.

I know it brought a sega cd but what else.

Alright so here are the games I got today. All of them except the gameboy ones were 95 cents each, for some reason they charge more for the gameboy games over there.....

I finally unpacked it and hooked it up. I'm going to need an extra extension cable to play the 32x cd games I got wuttt!!

My first Sega CD 32x games!

Some Sega CD games!

Awesome PS1 titles!!!

Picked up some awesome Genesis titles!

Can't beat these gameboy games! They are a lot of fun!

That's about it, I'm currently having a hell of a great time with these new finds! WOOOOOOTTTTT!!!!
